UNCF Grant
In July 2002, Xavier University was awarded a three-year, $100,000 grant from the United Negro College Fund to support a faculty advancement program for a technology-enhanced curriculum. This grant is administered by Xavier's Center for the Advancement of Teaching.
This initiative supported Xavier faculty members who worked together in developing
new curricula that incorporate new technology or revising existing curricula to the same
end. The goal of this initiative was to improve the curriculum and hence, student learning,
at Xavier University by integrating information technologies in appropriate and effective
ways.
To this end, the initiative promoted the formation of small (3-5 member) faculty teams or communities. These were established through a competitive request for proposals.
