This week\’s blog seems to be very interesting. On eof the readings that I really enjoyed was the epic of Gilgamesh. The epic of Gilgamesh was a very interesting story. I think that it was one of the most exciting out of all of the stories. The reason I liked it so much was because of the two characters in the story Enkidu and Gilgamesh. Their roles in the epic were very important. Both of them were very exciting characters. There was alot of drama going on between the both of them. The story started off with Enkidu being created by the god Aururu. Enkidu was made out of clay and was endowed with strength and was believed to be the mightest in the land. Enkidu then had sdex with Shamhat for six days and seven nights. Shamhat sucked out all of his powers. Then she asked him to come with her to the Holy temple, which was the residence of the gods Anu and Ishtar.
Then the story shifted over to the character by the name of Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh had two dreams about ekindu and told his mother . She explained that these dreams are going to have something to do with his future. Gilgamesh was then to marry Ishara. Before the wedding Ekindu blocked the way and both of them began to fight each other. After the fight they actually kissed and made up. Gilgamesh and Ekindu went to the forest and headed to the mountains. Everynight Gilgamesh had dreams. He had dreams about a bull named Shamash. IN the forest there goal was to kill Humbaba once they got to the Cedar mountains. ONCE THEY MET hUMBABA THEY BEGAN TO BATTLE AND gILGAMESH HAD TO SAVE eKINDU\’S LIFE BE KILLING hUMBABA. aFTER THEY KILLED hUMBABA the made a raft and headed out with the head of Humbaba.
