My Project
95 words by TeAra McClendon
My project for the semester will be dealing with the issues of illiteracy. I plan to find a program that already tutors people with this problem and I will volunteer my time there for a few hours a week. I also plan on teaming up with two of my other classmates to try to create an after school program to help children with these type of problems. It will be on the lines of a big brother big sister type of program. Hopefully we will get volunteers to help us out and make a difference.

Not a bad idea to help the poor people that want help to get a new lease on life. The program that you are suggesting is all encompassing. It covers getting them back on their feet by getting them a job to helping them to maintain that job by doing things like watching their kids for them. The main thing that I saw that was bad about this paper was that it seemed like it was rushed due to the numerous grammatical and spelling errors that I saw throughout the paper. Other than that this idea I well worth doing.

This is a very good project. Certainly the issue is something that you can
make a big impact on. The thought of you trying to start an after school
program which enable the kids to learn how to read is very big on your part
so I commend you on your leadership quality. I hope you the best, GOOD LUCK

Nice project. Illiteracy is a serious problem in the world because there are many people who are illiterate and some are almost too far along to try and fix. Great idea to start off with the children because if you nip it in the bud at a young age than we (society) will not have to worry about 45 year-old grown people who can not read, write, or speak, having little to no education at all.
I like the fact that you said that it would be like a big brother, big sister program. My church had a program like that at our church and I loved it. My big sister served as a mentor, a friend, and a teacher. I received as full packaage.
Your idea is great. I would love to hear how your project is progressong. Maybe I could be apart of the program, like a Big Sis.

I like the fact that your are trying to help illiterate children. Reading is the fundamentals to everything from math to cooking; however, too many people can’t read. I think that you have a good plan because it is something that you can actually do. I also like to Big sister/Big brother idea. These people can serve as role models as well as tutors. You have a good idea but have you thought about tutoring the adults who don’t know how to read. Not many people have talked about them. Good luck with your project.

This is a very good project and I hope it works out for you. There are millions of americans out there who can not read or write and if you can help to decrease that number, even by one, you have made a difference in the world.
