Once again I am late doing my blog but am making progress. I still have to complete five more blogs. I can only blame myself for being late on my blogs. I had to sacrice work.I going to finish all of my blogs because I am going to get al of them done over the Thanksgiving break. I am also going to have to write my paper over the Thanksgiving break to . This is going to be a very hectic break. I really do not consider this a break at all. But I cannot blame this on anybody but me. It is my fault that I waited soo long to start on my blogs but I am determined to finish all of my work because I need a good grade in al of my classes. The reason I am so late is because I have had other classes in which I have had to accomplish alot of work. I had to sacrifice doing work in a class so I had to choose this one. I am not happy about it but it is my responsibility to get the work done. I do not look at this class as an inferior class to my other one\’s I just have to make sure I have my grades up in my core classes for my major. My major is psychology pre- med and I hacve to make sure I have good grades in stats, chemistry, and psychology. But I still need to strive for a good grade in the class. I hope to get a B in this class. I think if I get a good grade on my blogs and do well on the paper and get a good grade on the final I should be able to get a B out of the clas despite the fact that I did not do well on the first exam in the class. But I can only blame myself for that , because I put myself in that predicament.
The first blogg I read was written by Rosie Wright. She feels like most students in their progress. We all have done the research but now it is time to let our actions speak louder then words. I agree that we all made plans that we will not be able to accomplish in a short amount of time. Another reason that makes it difficult to stick with our original plans is resources. LOts of people do not have the money to place Ads on billboards or for commercials. Lotsof people have written letters and sent them off but I doubt that they\’re responsed to before the semester is over. But instead of giving up on our plans we need to narrow them down to realistic goals that we can accomplish. We must say that Education is the source to all problems in the world. Reading over the majority of students plans the number one way to find a solution to the problem is through education. Education is the number one way to inform the public of the problem and plans to decrease the problem no matter what the problem is. Rosie problem is what many believe to be the cause of all problems. For instance she believes that the world lack role models and positive mother and father figures. Without these figures in your life at a early age a child is confused in how life should be conducted in order to be successful. Stats shows that high class students with both parents in their life are more likely to be successful in life. I find this statement to be true. Students who do not have to work while going to school have more time to study and get better grades then students who have to work. It seems like school was designed for rich students who only had to read. What she meant by this is that a lot of students in school now have to work (some more then one job and grave yard shifts), take care of a household and chores, and then find time to study. I have never smoke before as well. I believe this is because my parents kept me involved in school and activities. I knew the importance of going to college. I believe that someone like me would be a great role model. But I suggest that you talk to students who have came from single parents who beat the odds without support. These individuals will be more of a role model than me and you because we have not experience their life style. I have known a student who had a great grades who were homeless and lived in shelters all her life in high school. Theywere determined to be more than what they were ever excepted to be. Without their mother\’s or father\’sthere to help manage them and to find support from a teacher. But without their determination they would have never made it into great schools. These are the role models that you need to let children know that their is a way out of the where ever they are from and what their situation is. your project
The second blogg I read was by Kelly Harkless. Her project was one of the the most interesting projects I saw so far. It made alot of sense because alot of those who are successful now, were those back in the day, that struggled the most. People like, Dwayne D. Wade andMichael Jordan and many others, expressed how much they struggled through life and look at these people now. Not even just athletes, even others who are sucessful, doctors, lawyers, psychologists. By having them sort of a mentor or overseerer, this could motivate children less fortunate or those who feel it would never happen to them.
My third bloogg I read was by Jami\’l Buiethis blogg stuck out to me because ithink teen pregnancy is a major issue. Even though the rate of teen pregnancy had gone down from the statistics in the past, that rate in my opinion is unrealistically high. There is no reason that the teen pregnancy rate should be so high, so I think that your project is needed in the world today. The problem I think is the fact that so many young women and men grow up with out the love of a father or love in general and they turn towards set to feel complete, and the females believe whatever the male says to them, when they say they love them and things of that aspect. And then they have their baby and then most of the time the boyfriend dose not want anything to do with the baby or the mother, so in conclusion I think that this project is well needed in the world.
The fourth blogg I read was by Dionna Matthews, the first thing that comes to my mind when i think of problems in the world was not war for some reason. things like that you just look over, so that proves your point of the younger generation being ignorant on the fact of the matter. i do not find that type of information interesting at all, just like you said i would rather watch E on the latest fashion or a reality show such as Real World. just the other day i had to watch a movie on 9-11 for history. This documentary gave a different point of view of the tragedy that we know today as September 11th. It opened my eyes to the presidential aspect of the situation; I now realize that our president is a brainless human being and I wonder how someone of that conduct could ever be the top representative of the country in which I live. i think that making people more informed on this subject is great, because it is always good to know what is going on. this will be hard because people are so closed minded on certain situations because of their personal feelings towards it, but it is possible.
The fifth blogg I read was by they had the same feelings about violence and hate as I did. They think society does not respect or care about their neighbors. I think that if more people began to do so, there would be a dramatic increase in the quality of life on this earth. This blog will contain many different problems that are involved in our nation, but I believe that all of these problems will tie into one large problem, lack of concern. By solving that one huge problem, all of the other “sub-problems” will then diminish.
Violence for example is a major problem in the world today. Turn on the news and hear the latest about serial killer Derrick Todd Lee, open the newspaper and read about the newest New Orleans murder, open your door and hear your neighbors outside bickering. Violence is everywhere, especially in the city of New Orleans. The city of New Orleans entered 2004 as the nation\’s homicide capitol of 71 major cities with a population of 250,000 or more for a second consecutive year. (I am sure that the city is not very proud of that first place win). Murder is something that is seen everyday by everybody, but just knowing that the problems exist will not terminate them. If people had a little more compassion for each other I think that this problem would not be so great.
My sixth blogg that I read was by Janise Lampley. her project was on HIV/Aids in the black community. I think that this is a very important issue that needs to be addressed. many of the black youth are dying because of this disease. And I think that it can be easily stopped. This is becoming a serious epedimic. If young people no mattert what color just practrice safe sex or abstinence then this would cut down on the cases. I think that it is ridiculous that people are dying because of something that can be stoped so easily.
My seventh blogg I reda was by Lauren Todd. Her blogg was about teens and drug use. I think this is also a serious issue because more and more teens are begining to use drugs. This is a very sad thing because teens should be focused on school work and what their going to do on the weekend not when are they going to get their next high. Many use drugs because of per pressure and others use drugs because their and parents did it and many use drug because they have not been infor med on the effects of drugs and they use them for recreation. I think if people begin to educate kids at a young age then maybe we could cut down teen drug use.
My eigth blogg I read was by Juliana Walker, I think you have a wonderful idea in wanting to fix the problem of education in the world. This idea also goes hand in hand with my theories on the factors which cause or relate to poverty. Actually reducing the drop out rate is one of the ways I plan to reduce to poverty rate, and help as many people as possible get back over the poverty line.
The ninth blogg i read was by Kristen Cosper. Kristen\’s Blogg was about the racial issues in America today. I agreed with her on alot of her veiws . Sahe agrees with me that many people need to be educated about other cultures and races because they are afraid of what they do not know.
The last blog I read was by Marquita Turner. Her blogg was about teen pregnacy. I think that teen pregnancy is a major issue because so many teens are having unprotected se which acan lead to having children or catching venarial diseases. many are misinformed or have not been informed about sex. I think that her project to stop the exceling number of teen pregnancies in our society is a great one.
