My thoughts about the class so far are a bit scary. See that we will do a lot of writing in this class and a lot of work online. It’s not that I do not like to work online, but sometimes the internet does not like to agree with me when it comes down to doing my work. Although this class seems alot scary to me, I still feel that I will learn a lot from this class. Whether it be improving my writing skill, reading skills, or learning something about the Bible that I never knew. I expect to come out of this class more knowledgeable of the Bible itself and more knowledgable of how to use a bible to locate information. I took this course because, of course, it is a required course, but also I took this course because feel that I can learn something. I believe that you can never have to much knowledge of the Bible. I do not know alot on Biblical Studies and I am defently not an expert on the Bible, but try to use the knowledge I do have on the Bible as a guide for my life. As a child I have attended Bible study at my chruch and I attend church regularly. All the information I have on the Bible comes from these activities. I know some subjects on the Bible and some people in the Bible, but like I say I am not an expert. I could learn lot more about the Bible from this class. I plans for the future are to get a degree in early childhood education and become either a kindergarten teacher or a pre-school teacher. I have always wanted to work with children and before I came Xavier I lost focus on want I really wanted to do with my life. I thought since I wanted to work with children, why be a pediatrician. So I majored in Biology Pre-med and I found later that this was right for me. Then I changed my major to education and felt that this major suits me better the biology. Learning about the can benefit anyone in any way. Learning about the Bible can help me personnally, by teaching me how I should live my life and how I can make the world “more just and Humane”.
586 BCE is a key event in the Bible because this was for many years Jerusalem served as the capital of Judah and Israel. Many prophets have transcend through the city and became famous for them. In 586 BCE the city fell to the Babylonians. King Nebuchadnezzar ordered that the city be torched . The Temple was destroyed and the people of the city were sent into exile. Lamentations is the story of the distruction of the first temple in Jerusalem. Lamentations is composed of many prophets telling their story of the events that happen during the falling of the temple. New Orleans geography is pretty much constent through out the city. This would make it very easy for the city be conquered by intruders. The mountains, desserts, and different bodies of water made it more difficult for intruders to invade and conquer. So if the was set in New Orleans alot things would not have happen and many things would have happen.
