I have received a lot of good feedback for my project. All of the comments were telling me that I had a good idea. I received a lot of good suggestions to how I should approach my project as well. A lot of people agreed with me when I suggested you use the internet as a medium to get my message out. A few people gave suggestion on how I could implement my plan in real life as well. Dr. Homan for example suggested that I think bigger. He also suggested if I can get an influential speaker to come and talk about the war. He also suggested if I could educate the people of New Orleans on the subject. This is a good idea because from the comments if receive, a lot of people still don’t know the whole situation and why America is still in Iraq. Another comment I received were full of suggests on how I could start small and start to build from there. She suggested that I started around Xavier. She said I should pass out information about the war and to have open discussions on the topic. I agree with these suggests. Like I stated earlier, not a lot of students know about the war. This is good way to familiarize students with the subject and to not overwhelm them with facts and numbers. She also suggested that I use the internet to receive a larger amount of feedback. She said that I should place polls on the internet of specific aspects of the war. I believe that this is a very good idea. Not only would I reach a bigger audience but I could get a broader range of people. At Xavier I only receive a small representation of society, but with the internet I could branch out and reach a variety of people in and outside of New Orleans. Along with Dr. Homan, many people suggested that I should get a speaker to come and talk to the students. Some suggested state officials and other suggested that soldiers who were in the war come and talk to students here. I agree with these suggestions as well. It is one thing to just tell people about what is going on over there or just give facts and death tolls. Hearing the personal accounts of people who were in Iraq can be a very valuable experience. You can hear how it is to live there and hear how they cope with all the violence. Many of the soldiers come back with psychological conditions as well. A soldier could talk about people they served with that developed them or they could talk about how they developed a condition. Over all of the comments that I received will help me in the long run. I am very thankful that I received so much positive feedback.
The Decalogue is a list of commandments that were written by god and given to Moses on Mt. Sinai. These commandments are a list of moral values that are not to be broken. There are ten of these commandments. A few examples of these commandments are; You shall not murder, You shall not steal, and You shall not commit adultery. There are other commandments that talk about god as well. For example; I am you lord and God, You shall have no other gods before Me, and You shall not make wrongful use of the name of you God. Now it is very hard for a person to go throughout there whole lives without breaking any of these commandments. Some are easy to follow but others are not as easy to follow. An easy one to follow is the one forbidding that you should murder. Majority of people will go through there whole lives without killing another person. Though there are many people that do kill others all the time. They do it was money, pride, power, or just any plain reason. On the other hand the commandment that forbids you to steal is broken frequently. I don’t know why this rule is so hard to obey by, but every breaks it in some shape or from. For example, some people do things that they don’t consider stealing, but really it is. An example of this when you eat a grape while your shopping at the grocery store. You don’t pay for the grape so you are stealing it. Another form of stealing is when people buy bootleg CD’s and DVD’s. Since you are not paying for the real thing, you are taking the money away from the people who made the cd or the movie. So in essence, you are stealing. Then there are people who blatantly steal and don’t have a problem doing it. People still for a lot of reason, but the fact is that no one cares about the repercussions that happen when they do steal. They don’t care about getting caught or going to jail. If I had to choose a favorite commandment I it would be the commandment that says you should not covet your neighbor’s wife. I like this because it is the one that is broken the most in my opinion. Marriage has changed so much of the years. A lot of people end up getting married multiple times and consequently getting multiple divorces. It used to be very had to get a divorce, but today it is very easy to get a divorce. Men cheat on their wives all the time and a lot of women cheat on their husbands as well. I believe that something is wrong within your marriage if you have to go to another woman or man to fulfill your needs. Another reason why this commandment is broken so often is that it is easier to cheat. If you have the opportunity to do it and know that you are not going to get caught then why not do it. This commandment is always going to be broken and there is nothing to help change that. In today’s society you see images of sex all around. With these temptations it is hard for some people to stay faithful. In the past these images were not all in the media and marriage was more sacred, but today it is not as sacred.
