Most people believe that the world will end during their lifetime because there is always some kind of activity in the world that coincide the signs for the end time including war and sinless, selfish behavior. People pay close attention to the activities going on in the Middle East to be able to identify when the end is near. There is no set time for when the end time will occur. It could happen at any moment and one can be anywhere doing anything. This uncertainty leads people to be on watch and anticipating it to come during their lifetime. The bible movie that we watched in class was about the prophet Jeremiah. It was a really good movie. I really enjoyed it. It had a love story that did not coincide with the bible though. The book of Jeremiah never mentions a chick named Julie. God told Jeremiah that he would never be married or have children but that was about it. Also Jeremiah was never a priest as in the movie. In history Jeremiah came from a lineage of Moses priests who did not handle the sacrifices at the temple as portrayed in the movie. The movie did do a good job of portraying the hardships of a prophet though. We talked about how a prophet never wanted to be a prophet because they always had to give the people bad news such as turn away from your wicked ways or the wrath of God will come and you’re going to die. Nobody wants to hear that so as a result they were beat, bruised, and scorned. Jeremiah found himself on the run or in bondage a lot because of the message that God gave him to give to the people. The movie gave me a clearer image of what was going on in the Bible (the Hollywood version anyway). I think my grade for these blogs should reflect the grace of God. Even though The Israelites were disobedient and rebellious, God still loved them and showed mercy on them. I think my grade should reflect mercy. I am don’t like to write papers and essays that’s probably why I can’t get any scholarships for college and have to take out a bunch of loans. I believe I have a good grasp of the topics discussed in this course and I am implementing a project but a lot of the details are confidential based on the rules of the organization so I really don’t relay much in my blogs. I need an A on my blogs to obtain an A in the class so I pray for an A, but if you go by the criteria for grades I deserve a D or C.
