Dear Senator Barack Obama,
In the democracy that we United States citizens live in, I understand that there is a responsibility which grants us to make informed decisions in government. However, when it comes to issues concerning war, the decision making seems completely out of our hands. As I have stated in previous internet blogs (web logs), for numerous reasons I am thoroughly disgusted by the idea of warfare, whether it is civil war, international war, even wars excluding involvement of the United States. I believe life would be much more livable and enjoyable without the selfish, cut-throat, and considerably inhumane acts of war tarnishing our potentially beautiful world. There is no reason why two or more opposing groups should choose to fight and essentially slaughter each other over any conflict, especially in our present day and age. I find it more than upsetting to live in an era where war still exists. By now, after thousands of years of human existence, I expected a general level of maturity from our human race that would have eliminated this diabolic concept of war.
I plan to conduct interviews with several persons from various places around the world. Ideally, the people who I wish to interview are those from nations that the United States government has some form of animosity towards (i.e. Iraq, North Korea, and Vietnam). My questions will be directed toward the common citizens or former citizens of these countries. With given permission the interviews will be made public via the internet, thereby exposing the true feelings of the underrepresented populations about going to war. Through this process I hope to influence people all over the world, including national leaders, to consider others’ opinions of warfare, and to agree upon a world without war.
I am a twenty year old junior attending Xavier University of Louisiana as a physics major, with plans to attend graduate school. As a key project for my Theology class, I was asked to implement an achievable plan that will improve the world that I live in. I am asking you, Senator Barack Obama, to join me in supporting a factual world of peace by opposing any pro-war proposals or options. At the very least, my goal is to establish a new mindset in political leaders all over the world to reach a permanent state of world wide peace through communication, and not warfare.
Sincerely,
Justin A. Frederick –a new anti-war and world peace activist.

I feel that Senator Barack Obama, Senator Hilary Clinton, Mayor Rudi Giuliani, and Senator John McCain are best suited to help change the problem of warfare because, in my opinion, they are the four most likely candidates to be future United States presidents. Contacting these candidates now will be more effective than when they become president since mail addressed to the president rarely reaches the president. Also, after obtaining the executive seat, that person gains most of the power in government. With such power, he or she will be significantly more affective on positively influencing traditional government practices regarding warfare.
African American criticism partly criticizes the aspect of racial ethnicities in the ancient African regions described in the Bible. This form of criticism benefits bible scholars as a useful tool by recognizing that having several different perspectives of the discipline allows better interpretation. African American criticism studies the role of Africa and Africans in the Bible. Through this criticism, scholars have seen, for instance, how the Bible has been altered in translation to discriminate against some Africans.
