The biblical prophets relate to my project because just like I am trying to improve the world by helping people, they did the same thing. The prophets tried to spread the word of God so that people can be saved and go to Heaven. They helped to improve the world by getting these people to believe in God and follow his teachings. By them following God’s teachings, they would not do bad things.

Job’s experience relates to rebuilding New Orleans because God allowed Hurricane Katrina to happen to New Orleans just like he allowed all of those bad things to happen to Job. Hasatan, who is later Satan, has an argument with God and tells God to take all of Job’s stuff away from him and to give him physical illnesses. Even with all these bad things happening to Job, he still remains loyal to God, or Yahweh. Job asked God why do bad things happen to good people and God tells him there is no answer. This parallels people’s thoughts on Hurricane Katrina because there were a lot of good people in New Orleans and many of them lost everything. Also, these good people still believe in and are loyal to God.

Psalm 22 is about someone who is in need of God’s help and is asking God why is he not helping him and why is he so far away. Although God is not there helping him, he still insists that God is holy. He knows that others trusted in God and God did deliver them, so he believes God will do the same for him too. There is also a reference to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in this scripture. He says “they pierced my hands and my feet”. He also says how people are looking up at him (as if he is up on a cross) and they are casting lots for his clothing.
