Even though I may have only two comments on my project for week 9, it’s still my duty to respond to these kind people who took the time to comment on my project. So far, I’m getting some positive feedback. When I thought of the idea of not asking for money anymore and instead ask for support and volunteer work, I wasn’t sure if I was going the right way or not. I thought that people might just want to give me their money and be done with it instead of actually getting some hands on action with the homeless people. There was also the thought of people not giving any money at all because of the fact that there are so many scams out there in the world today that it doesn’t allow people to donate money to the right group. The funny thing is that if they asked me for the credentials for my project, the only thing I can show them is my syllabus for the theology course. Samantha Hicks proved me right when I suggested asking for help instead of money. Samantha also agreed that if a complete stranger came up to her and asked for money for some kind of project she doesn’t know about then she wouldn’t give the person any money at all. This was a good thing I changed the way I was going to get the support I needed. The project wouldn’t end up good if I just waited for money to flow in. God knows how long it’s going to take to raise enough money to have a little feast. It would be so wonderful if the government would give me just a little bit of money to get this thing started instead of having to find ways to raise the amount of needed to fund this feast. Every couple of seconds in the day, the United States is using up a couple thousand dollars to fund the war. Imagine the good we could do if some of the respectable charities around the world receive some of that money. I know that what I’m trying to do can’t save these people from poverty, but what I can do is get them off their feet. I want to give them a head start and a fighting chance to survive in this society.

The homeless people in my little community are starting to get a little better. We have a small market area where the homeless guys are known to hang around. Every single day, they are out there asking for money. They always tell you the same story. They would tell you that they’re thirsty and they just want something to eat. I gave them money quite a few times just to see where it will go to. I saw some of them go buy beer or cigarettes. Pretty hungry and thirsty guys aren’t they? It’s sad to see them go do that with your money when you trust them to actually go get something to eat with the money you worked hard for everyday. I’m not here trying to slam these guys for what they do. I kind of don’t blame them for acting the way they do. The homeless people have attributed some addictions due to living on the streets for so long. Not all of them are hopeless though. Some of these people are really fighting hard to fit back into society again. I know for sure that two of the homeless people out by the Vietnamese market near I live have gotten everyday jobs. Even though they are still living on the streets for now, they’re going at it in a good way. I admire the type of these people because they know that the odds are against them, but they still have to try anyway. That type of hard working people are the ones my project is for. I’m trying to give these people a boost in life and a pat on the back.

The main difference between source and textual criticism is the way it is interpreted. For source criticism, you are reading a text from somewhere and trying to figure out where it came from and what time period it came from also. The sources you find may not always be correct though because people have their own opinions and may write it down to be a fact or so. Textual criticism concentrates on the text when it was first written. The scholars want to see it in its original state so that they know it hasn’t been altered in some kind of way. If they can see it in its original form, they can interpret the text for themselves. One of the best ways to know that it’s in its original form is that the shorter and more complicated the sentence, the more authentic it is. When people read something that sounds complicating, they tend to change it to make sense to them and allow other people to understand it as well.

Tobit is a grave digger who goes blind when a bird flew by and dropped fecal matter in his eyes. Tobit goes blind and gets seriously depressed and wants to commit suicide. Knowing that he has a debt to owe, he sends his son Tobias to Media to repay that debt. God send down an angel named Raphael to accompany Tobias on his journey. At the same time, they meet a woman named Sarah who is also depressed because the demon keeps killing her new husbands on their wedding night. Tobias and Raphael kill a giant fish on the way to Media and kept the organs because God told them it would be useful later on. Tobias and Raphael happened to stay at Sarah’s place when they reach Media. Tobias and Sarah fall in love and get married. The demon wasn’t able to kill Tobias because Raphael imprisoned it. Tobias and Sarah returns to Tobit happily married and rubbed some of the organs from the fish in his dad’s eyes and cures the blindness. The moral of the whole story is to never give up when you think your life is going down. God has a plan for everyone.

Maccabees are considered to be heroic because they revolted against Antiochus. The revolt was led by Judah, who is also known as Maccabee, and this revolt was the cause of the independence of the Jews.
