I believe that many Christians don’t think the world will end in their lifetime. I think they want the world to end when they are still alive. It doesn’t make much sense to me why these people want it to end. Maybe some Christians want the world to end in their life time because they want to be seen worthy in the eyes of God. I knew that when I was growing up, my parents kept reminding my sibling and me that the world will end soon if we don’t clean up our act. The scary part is that I really did think at onetime that the world will end in my lifetime. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who thought the world was going to blow up in the year 2000. You didn’t even have to be a Christian to think the world was going to end in that year. Everywhere you looked; there was always somebody or something that was reminding you that you were going to die soon, so you should go repent as soon as possible. The final days were coming near when the year 1999 was going to end. My family and I were starting to freak out. We were one of those many families who thought a whole bunch of can foods and of course some noodles was going to save our lives if the end was really going to come. I can honestly say that I thought the world was going to end when the whole country stayed up that night until midnight. I was truly disappointed to see that nothing came at all. I think at that moment in life, I didn’t believe in an ending no more. Every single year that passes, there is always some kind of tragedy that Christians go crazy about and start babbling about the world ending. I sometimes think the whole idea of the world ending is just some kind of way that the church scares you into thinking that you have to be extremely holy or you’re going to die.

The Book of Revelations also contributes to the reason why Christians think the world is going to end sooner or later. This section of the bible tells us about the destructive events that will lead to the destruction of the world. People say that the terrorist attack of 9/11 was prophesized in the bible and that Hurricane Katrina resembles what happened in the Great Flood described in the bible. The book says that God will come down from heaven one day and pass judgment on everyone.

Other Christians might want the world to end in their lifetime because it will give their generation some fame. People are always trying to find some kind of way to be remembered by. The weird thing about this is that if the world did end in this lifetime, it would mean that the whole world is going to be destroyed. If not the whole world, at least everyone and everything that is here on earth will be destroyed. When we all die, who is going to remember the event?

The movie we watched in class was about Jeremiah’s life growing up as a prophet. Jeremiah was being guided by the voice of God, but his father didn’t believe him. The whole movie was basically about everybody except for a certain few thinking that Jeremiah is a fake and is just trying to reach the throne of the king. Jeremiah is trying to warn the king about the Babylonians coming to destroy the city. He told the king that all they have to do is surrender to the Babylonians and they will spare the city, but still burn it down because God demanded it. The king tried to lock Jeremiah up so he couldn’t talk to the citizens anymore until the end of the movie where the king was trying to desperately ask Jeremiah for help. At the end of the movie, the king and some of his followers that were still left was executed in front of the whole Babylonian society. Jeremiah lost everything, including his wife, but still believed in God’s will.

I personally think that I deserve a B for the blog entries. I believe this because I have finished all the entries with a thousand words or more. The only thing I wished I would’ve done differently is that I should’ve done this every week, but this whole blogging thing was conflicting with the rest of my school work. I can honestly say that after doing so many of these blogs, I find it a lot easier now to write a two page essay.

I know that not everyone is perfect with everything they do, but I think I deserve an A for my project. So far in the blogs, people agreed that my project is either helping out the world or the state of Louisiana. As I have stated in my previous blogs, I wasn’t able to find a way to improve the world because I wanted to improve the state first. If we can improve the whole entire state, maybe the country will notice and soon our whole country will be poverty free. I worked hard on my project and got other people involved in it. My whole team put all our energy and passion into helping out the homeless people. I also have attended most of the classes and tried to understand the lessons taught in class. I do believe that I have exemplified Xavier’s mission. I was trying to be a leader and guide the team to fulfill our project. My project was trying to make society a more humane and just society. On the way, the team and I were trying to teach everyone who would listen that helping out the people in need will eventually make society better. We were trying to be good role models, so that the younger generation would follow in our footsteps and in turn find a way to make the world a better place.

Remember it is Revelation without the S. Have a nice holiday. I enjoyed having you in class, and especially your emails.
