Week 13
Blog exactly what you have done to improve the world regarding your project. This blog does not involve future plans, but actual things you have done this semester to implement your project. Post at least one more picture about your project. Why was Jesus crucified?
Jesus was crucified because it was the will of the Lord for his son to die for the sins of the world. The Lord God allowed Jesus to be crucified. The Jewish rejected Jesus as the Messiah and the rightful King of Israel. They did not believe that he was the Son of God as he had prophesied to them; they hardened their hearts to the Lord. Although all Jesus did was love he was hated because of it. He was crucified for rebellion against Rome, by making claim to the throne and saying that he was the son of the most high.
I honor his death so highly and admire his life so much that it is a hard question to ponder. Who would want to kill someone so kind and gentle, who in their right minds could have disliked Jesus so intensely that they wanted him dead? Jesus is thought of as a genuinely noble person, who reached out to the poor, who cured the sick, who welcomed those who needed a friend the most and who preached love and forgiveness. I cannot imagine any person who would want to kill Jesus. Who would want to kill one of the nicest, kindest guys in the world? The destruction and the corruption that existed in the world is precisely why God sent his son into the world in the first place because he knew that it was a horrible place that needed a miracle.
I think the Romans looked at is as is Jesus was preaching repentance then it would give people the desire to sin if they knew they could be forgiven for it. The Roman church was more concerned with self wealth and maintaining the current social status and Jesus disrupted that by not following their laws and teaching them new religious ideas. Jesus told people they should expect him to be killed in this way. It was God’s plan. Jesus told his followers that he had come on a rescue mission. His mission was to liberate men women and children from the terrible dilemma of wrongdoing, of sin. I guess when you put it like that I haven’t actually done anything; but it is not because of a lack of effort or interest, more like a lack of time. I have done my part to get this project started but this task involved a lot more steps than I had anticipated, especially with me trying to start my own program from scratch. The reason I chose to start my project from scratch is because there were no programs available that focused on the area that I thought I could be most effective. The reason I originally chose this particular topic is because I thought I could be helpful in this are due to the extensive processes that I had to experience solo in college. I thought that if I passed on my knowledge that I had gained through many trial and errors I could prevent someone else from being clueless to networking of a secondary educational institutions.
What I did achieve is I faxed my info about the program to the schools that I listed that were open and even though it hasn’t began yet I did at least make many more people aware of this widespread problem that does exist for those that have the desire to attend college but don’t have the means and don’t know how to access their resources. People that are in educational institutions are directly interacting with their students on a day to day basis and can be just as efficient as myself in conveying the message of how crucial it is to have a plan before propelling yourself into an social world for which you have not been properly prepared academically.
The local librarian who has been assisting with my project has sent emails to the families of the children whom she tutors and she has informed them about my project that I am conducting in January in the African American Resource Center. I don’t want all of my work to go unnoticed just because the results are not concrete yet. I think my aim was high for this project and I became overwhelmed with my other classes, like everyone else I’m sure, and my project was not always given priority. I think I would have gotten more accomplished if I would have brought my ideas to an establishment that already existed and had a foundation of children that already attended and were familiar with the place.
Talking to some of the school officials I realized that a problem that may arise with the children is transportation to and from the facility. I am not going to let these dilemmas deter me because I know that whatever is destined to happen, no obstacle can prevent it from becoming a reality. This project honed my business skills, to an extent, because I have a better idea to go about completing all tasks involved in my project. I think too often we want to take care of the job by ourselves that we are all doing separate things, when in all actuality more could get done if we collectively shared our ideas and worked together. That is the principal lesson that can be taken from this project thus far, is the necessity for everyone to work together to achieve goals that concern our world that we live in; instead of becoming further divided in attempt to solve global problems individually. Two heads are definitely better than one. I may not have impacted the world with my project just yet but I think that my becoming enlightened is better for the world. The more knowledge that I personally attain, if I continue to use it for good, then the future will benefit more from it that the present.
I dont have any pics to add, unless you want me to take pics of the facility where the project will be held.
