Week 13 is here!!!! Only two more to go people!!!!!! Well, I guess I should be happy since I gotten through most of the aggravation. But I digress. As far as my project goes, I feel it went very well. I managed to go to 3 schools like I planned and did what I said I was going to do. I tried to better the world by informing kids about sexually transmitted diseases, and encouraging them to practice abstinence or safe sex. Honestly, I do not believe that my going to talk to the kids made a pretty big impact, but there is always hope. The reason I do not believe my project made a big impact is because despite my informing the kids about sexually trasnmitted diseases and encouraging them to practice abstinence and safe sex, they will make their own decisions. I do not feel that most of the kids will make wise decisions when it comes to situations like this. But still, I think that some of the kids will make the right decision. So I guess it is “what and what” of whether my project made a real difference or not. I would like to believe it did though. It is quite obvious though, that my project will not solve the problem of sexually transmitted diseases being spread out in the world as rapid as they are today. But as I have said before, a good thing must start from somewhere. There is no full proof method to stop the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, or to control peoples actions. But maybe we can influence to make wise decisions and who knows??? Maybe they will listen to us. On a positive note, I did have some feedback from some students. Some of those who I spoke to really said that they would consider practicing abstinence. I am just guessing that most will at least practice safe sex. I have educated students on some sexually transmitted diseases that are not commonly known to the general public. I believe that this will make the kids think about engaging in sexual activity before actually doing it. By doing all of this, I may have reached the minds of some of the students in New Orleans. They might have told some of their friends about the information that each of them had learned. Maybe I made some teenager who thought about having sex think again before he or she decided to make an unwise choice. That could be one or more persons in the world who are not infected with a sexually transmitted disease. The students seeing that I have actually taken the time to come and speak to them may have made them think about how serious this actually is. My bringing my friend, who happens to be a person who is infected with HIV, to speak to the students seem to be very effective. Hearing information from a person who did not make a wise decision about this certain subject would make them figure this is no laughing matter. People actually die from these diseases. I also explained to the students tat for some of these diseases, there is absolutely NO cure. Once a person is infected with a certain type of sexually transmitted disease, that person has that disease for life. There is no turning back after that. I also encouraged the students to practice abstinence. I strongly encouraged them to do this because this is really the only true form of safe sex that there is. Not even condoms are one-hundred percent effective. Most people who have contracted a sexually transmitted disease explain that they wish they had been abstinent. I explained to the students that most people hear about other people contracting a sexually transmitted disease, but never believe that it will happen to them. Then one day they wake up and regret having done what they did, wishing they could turn back the hands of time. I also told them that if they are or are planning to be sexually active, they should practice safe sex. This is the next best thing, as opposed to practicing abstinence. These are all things that a wise person would consider doing. Overall, I think I made a pretty decent impact on the students. Hopefully they will put my words into practice.
There are two reasons as to why Jesus was crucified. One reason is because of human interaction, and the other is because it was the will of God. The human reason is because Jesus spoke out loud against two groups: the Romans, and the religious groups of his time. He angered the Romans because the people looked at him as their thought of the Messiah. The people of Jesus’ time believed that the Messiah would come and rise against the Romans, freeing them from the rule of the Roman emperor. However this is not why he came. He also angered the religious groups because he spoke against their teachings and did not agree with what they taught about the Law. Jesus was also attracting many followers so he was drawing the people over to him, therefore the people were abandoning the teachings of the religious groups. This of course angered the religious groups and the Romans, so they agreed that Jesus was something that had to seriously be dealt with. The other reason why Jesus was crucified was because it was the plan of God. Since Adam, Man has lived in a constant state of sin. And of course, God hates sin. So a person is not able to be in the presence of God if he or she is in a constant state of sin. Therefore, God made a way for us to escape the fate of living in hell being separated from him. He sent his only begotten Son, Jesus, to die for the sins of the world. This way, humans, who are not perfect, are made perfect through Christ, who is perfect. Well that should do it for this week my peeps. Until next time…..PEACE!!!!
