Week 13

The lack of Religious tolerance was a very important issue, and I am happy to say that although I didn’t make a huge difference, I still informed many people on the need for peace and acceptance. The meeting that I held brought many people together of different religious backgrounds for unity and peace. It also encouraged them to get informed and inform other people. That meeting even taught me things about other people of different religious backgrounds that I didn’t know. And us eating together really symbolized the unity that we were trying to achieve. The question of why did Jesus die on the Cross has such an easy answer. Simply because He loved us. Jesus has unconditional love towards us and even though we fell in sin and continually disobey God, He still sent His only Son so that he would die instead of us. Not a physical death but a spiritual death. According to the Pharisees though, Jesus died because he was apparently blaspheming against God. And according to the Romans, Jesus claimed to be the next King which was against Ceaser and against the Roman State. But ultamitely Jesus dies to redeem us from the original sin that Adam, our father, had passed on to us. That is why we have the sacrament of baptism now.

Hi Marina, I wish you had been able to put in a bit more time for the blog, but my favorite parts about having you in class were you always seemed to do the readings and you brought a fresh Coptic perspective to our discussions. Thanks
