I’m happy with the comments I received on my project. My issue is very important cause it is a worldwide issue. Religious intolerance has been the reason for many wars in the world. It is very important that people are educated and understand different religions. It is also important that people accept different people of different religions, and learn to live with them in unity and harmony. My logo is the American flag with the symbols of many religions on it. The three biggest religions on them are Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. These three religions are very different, but at the same time are similar. Unfortunately, even in the United States, there are prejudice acts done because of religious ignorance and tolerance. Some of the patriarchs and matriarchs are good role models, and some are not. Abraham was a very good role model, but his wife Sarah was not the best role model. She had no trust in God… When God told her she was going to have a baby in her old age she started laughing. Isaac was a very good role model because he was willing to be sacrificed because God asked him to, and he had trust in God when he was ready to choose for him a wife. His wife Rebekah was not the best role model. She helped her favorite son, Jacob, deceive Isaac by acting like Esau. Jacob was not a good role model because he lied to his father and stole his brother’s birthright. But Jacob was very patient. He waited seven years to marry Rachel, and when he got her sister instead he worked another seven years to get Rachel because he loved her so much. Many of the patriarchs and matriarchs were good role models, but they still had their share of mistakes. I think my favorite commandment from the Decalogue was “You shall not covet your neighbors things”. I like it because it is still a problem today. Jealousy is always bothering people. Whenever someone gets a new car, you have to have it. Whenever someone gets anything nicer then you, you want it and have to have it. The Decalogue fits into the context of the Near Eastern Suzerain-Vassal treaties because just like the Decalogue these treaties were very detailed and controlling. There were many rules to these treaties just like in the Decalogue.
