Janice McIntosh Week 9

My project is going great. I finally finished all the revisions that I had to do. All the sessions are outlined and approved. I’m feeling good about it my project. I had the first two and I only have one more to go. It seems like the time just flew really. The girls are so nice and THEY CAN TALK! Which is such a good thing, I am not complaining at all. I’ve already decided that when I finish with the project I’m going to continue to volunteer there. I have so much fun plus I don’t want it to seem like Im using them. Like Oh “now that Im finish with my project I don’t need you anymore so nice knowing ya!” It will be next semester of course. Umm I already decided that for our closing session thing I want to make butterfly parting gifts, if that’s what you want to call it. So I picked a butterfly as my logo picture and while I was in Wal-Mart yesterday they had all these lip-gloss flavors. Every girl can appreciate lip gloss! So Im going to take the individually wrapped lip-gloss container things and put little construction paper wings on them and little antenna things or whatever the horns are called on the butterflies. Oh and bookmark poem things that has this poem I found on the internet. I cited the author, don’t want any plagiarizing cases! So here is what the poem says:
Life Lessons from a Butterfly:
Let go of the past…
Trust the future…
Embrace change…
Come out of the cocoon…
Spread your wings…
Dare to get off the ground…
Ride the breezes…
Savor the flowers…
Put on your brightest colors…
Let your beauty show.

Michelle, Crystal, and Shanique had a dance this week so I look forward to their stories. Last session was about self confidence and I love how they apply what we talk about.
Deuteronomistic historians thought that the good kings had to do special stuff for God because God is always the most important, that made them good. The kings had to worship like all the time before everything no matter what. They had to, well were suppose to enforce Christianity over their followers or their people as the leader. How “good” they were was determined by how many they could get to convert to Christianity. Like in EVERYTHING we have covered this semester they were men and were superior to all, all the time, head of all and everything. The woman was not capable of doing anything for the family like provide (because that was the man’s job) or protect the family, this also made them good. Going to war was a sign as well. Punishment and keeping all the order was important too. It was a good thing for them to got to war. Having a good army that could beat the others what the THING to have. The kings took pride in that and going to war I guess was what got them going and made them good. Also making good decisions and choices for their people and army.
Deuteronomistic historians would never ever ever approve of Bush as a king. No one approves of Bush! The only good thing that could possible come out of him is our army. But in all actuality that has nothing to do with Bush. We have a great army and they serve our county well. The war is not justified and there is no reason for us being there. He made up a reason to get us there; maybe he thought it would make him “good” for finishing the stupid was his daddy started. So he gets a big fat F in that category. As for religion, I don’t know. As far as I know, I’ve never heard or read of him doing anything towards religion. For protection that man is failing. New Orleans is a great example. Where was Bush, not here! But he has 50 million people messing with us in the airport taking people through changes, yet we have bombs and all kinds of stuff making it on plane still. When I flew home I had mace in my purse and a small blade in my carryon bag and no one stopped me. Whatever Bush! We’re just going to change the subject because that man is NO ONE’s good nothing. We’re just going to count down til the next election.
To be so close to God David messed up. He was married when he had Sheba come to the kingdom he slept with her. David knew she was devoted to her husband and that he was away fighting his war. David took advantage of Sheba and that was messed up. They committed adultery, uhh! So after he slept with her then sent her on her way they found out she was knocked up. Of course it wasn’t her husbands because he was gone. King David couldn’t let that come out so in order to keep it a secret. After trying to get the husband to sleep with Sheba (it didn’t work) then he just has the commander of the army put him on the front like and he gets killed. God wasn’t having that because what he did was definitely wrong, so he cursed David. His whole kingdom fell. His family was cursed too (his kids), they were killed and raped. Sad the kids had to suffer for what their father did. But hey whatever.
The Jerusalem temple was long and rectangle shaped and had pillars. There were different area section things were different things took place. The main area had all the sacrificing and cutting up animals. They had a woman’s court are too. Which I thought was new since women really didn’t have a place back then. There were lamps that always were burning and the tables always had the bread on them. King Solomon had the second temple built but it was destroyed by the Babylonians when they came and racked havoc. The third temple was destroyed during the Roman Empire and that was the end of that.
