What have I done to improve the world? Well I think by choosing the have an impact on genocide has forced people in class inside and out recognize that it is a problem. In an earlier blog I listed many important statistics on the events taking place in Darfur at this moment. I have contacted Invisible Children so that can come to Xavier and hold a presentation on the condition and also their efforts. But I definitely believe by choosing it as my topic I have increased awareness of the problem. However, I am upset that I didn’t get to implement my project much more, those people suffering deserve better. The topic is very overwhelming at time.
When Jesus first enters Jerusalem during the time of Passover he went to the temple where he witness the moneychangers scheming money from people and posing it as God’s will. Then Jesus committed his first offense by turning the moneychangers table over. After Jesus and his disciples went to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane and he was arrested. When asked if he was the Son of God he confirmed that he was indeed God’s son and he was charged with blasphemy. He was then taken to Pontius Pilate who was to hand down Jesus’ punishment but he deemed he was not guilty, still one man had to die. The people voted and consequently Jesus was to be the victim although he had already predicted his fate. He was crucified later that day. I believe he crucified mainly because he represented the ideal that the king was not the ultimate power. So to regain his influence and authority Jesus had to be silenced for all the accusations he made and the freedom he represented.
