week 14

People think that the world is going to end because of all the bad things that seem to be happening. It was prophesied that God would destroy the world. Many people said that Hurricane Katrina was God’s way of cleansing New Orleans of all its sin. That is the dumbest thing I think I heard during that time. I argued with so many people over this topic. It always seems that what is happening to you is the worst thing that could ever happen, just because you are feeling it more. When things happen that just seem to be too tragic to bare, the only explanation is that it was sent from God. People are stupid! They think that nothing terrible can happen unless its God’s doing. Like the hurricane, everyone said God had to cleanse the city because were full of sin and upset him. Of course it had nothing to do with global warming or any other environmental problem caused by the pollution of the earth or any of the other problems we cause. Of could just be one of those things that just happen. I hate how people always say that everything happens for a reason. People just say that to say, things are going to happen in your life that is going to hurt you, a lot, and there is nothing you can do about it. All you can do is try to find some good in what happened or try to make the best out of the situation.
In the bible movie, God appeared to Joshua in many forms. Once was as a little girl, then as a little, boy, and an old man. Joshua was supposed to become one of the king’s priests. God however, has a different plan in mind. He wants Joshua to speak for him, to become a prophet. When Joshua first speaks for the king he gets a message from God posing as someone in the crowd. What he says offends the crowd because he is telling them that God is displeased with them. He must then leave the city after being beaten by his family and shaming his father. After leaving his is followed by a man who believed that what he said was a message from God. Joshua made many attempts to convince the king to change his ways or else the Babylonians were going to burn the city. The king did not listen and the Babylonians did exactly what Joshua had prophesied. He also told the king that if he surrendered he would not die but would have to live as a slave for the rest of his life, once again he did not listen. The Babylonian king did not kill him but killed his two sons and then burned out his eyes so that was the last thing the king ever saw. Of course in the movie there was a woman whom Joshua loved but could not have. I doubt this was really part of the story just because all movies have to have some type of romance because like I said, people are stupid!
I know everyone that has done the blogs will say that they should get an A or a B. I know that not all of my blogs reached the required thousand words but they were answered in detail, I think. Even if I didn’t have enough words I had a lot of thought and specific examples, just like in this blog which I seriously doubt is going to reach a thousand words. I’m not very good with extensive writing because after a while I feel like I am repeating myself, and no one really wants to read that. Sorry! I will work on it though. However what I did write was very much to the point and did show that I at least understood what I was taking about.
