MY PROJECT

First I want to apologize for the delay of my blog post. I started the blog Wednesday but Friday when I tired to complete the blog and get the rest of the questions from blackboard the website was down. So I loaned my laptop to my friend to use for the weekend because I had to work all weekend, just as things started to get worse I was going to complete the blog Sunday but coming from work I got a flat tire I ultimately got frustrated and went to bed yesterday as soon as I came back to my room. But a major problem that the world is facing today is racism. People are constantly ridiculed for their skin color constantly. This is a major issue because people aren’t getting jobs, stereotypes are emplaced, suicide occurs, and self esteem’s are down. My parents always tell me never burn your bridges; I can really see how important that is because you never know when you will need something. In my life time I have had the opportunity to meet some of the best people that live all across the United States and some in other continents. I will use those contacts and work together with them to hopefully end the fight against racism drastically. I know that I won’t be able to change the whole world’s views but hopefully I will have an impact on the majority of it. I will use technology such as YOUTUBE to communicate and also inform people about it. Forums will be on various college campuses also handbills will be passed out. Marketing the various forums will be essential I will use face book, and other social networking website as well. I’ve always been an advocate for the quote pay it forward. I really think it works especially when you are working for change, if one person tells another person the cycle will continue. I know the subject is very repetitive but deep down inside I know I can make more of an impact on racism. I’m not trying to become the next Dr. King I am just trying to pick up where he left off. I just tried to research how the alphabet democratize civilization but couldn’t find anything I can’t wait for your lesson on how it does! Archeology helps bible scholars because they research the past and its events. With there research you can prove if something was real or fake and that’s they have done.

I like the idea that you addressed racism as the world’s biggest problem. Even though it is a big problem it going to take a lot of work to elimanate it. I agree with you when you say “if one person tells another person the cycle will continue,” and if you take advantage of it, it will make a great impact on your project. Everything that is know today is through word of mouth and technolgy. By using every resource such as Face Book and Myspace you will be able to reach millions of people and get them involved in your project.

I absolutely love how you are trying to tackle racism. Coming from a multiracial family, I have seen the pros and cons of having this kind of environment when growing up. I have been made fun of, have been ridiculed by classmates when I was young, but these things have made me a stronger person. I think if people realized how much this affects children and in fact everyone, hopefully they will reconsider their negative thoughts on race and respect everyone as human beings. And I like you have traveled a lot and seeing and meeting all these different types of people is a beautiful thing and helped me become more open.

I really like your project and I think that it will impact alot of people. Using technology is a great way to do this because a lot of people that are making the effort to do things like that always have big meetings, but reaching out to people in numerous places in the world through the internet is a really good idea. One thing that I would suggest is that when I am looking at You Tube, I look for something that would really catch my attention fast, so make sure that you start the video off with a bang! lol. But on a more serious note, this will reach our generation through things that they love to do.

I hope that you are very successful in this project and can somehow do what many others have attempted and failed. I think that with all of the resources you have at your disposal and your willingness to use them as needed, that you have a shot at at least opening a few eyes to the effects that racism and the judgments and hardships that come with it. Maybe this really is one of these subjects where people just have to have it repeatedly drilled into their heads in order to understand its importance.

I like the fact that you are addressing a serious issue that is a very touchy subject. You are using your resources to address this, such as Youtube and Facebook, which are two major networking sites that many young people use today. The reason why this is important for your project that I like is that all people from all around the world utilize these networking sites, so you are reaching a wide audience. I also like the fact that you included forums, because this a big way to let people speak their minds on racism.

Youtube is a good idea. Let’s see what you can come up with this semester.

Racism is definitely a problem and will never go away. I work in a pharmacy and experience it everyday. Your project is a good idea especially since you are hitting one of the most popular websites to address it. Good luck

Sherman I love the fact that you are addressing a very “touchy” subject. It is a major issue but many times left in the dark because of unwanted feedback. Using Youtube and Facebook is brilliant; this enables you to capture the attention of not only young Americans, but young people all over the world. Forums will only further enforce your point. I hope that you are successful, and I encourage to seek this project to the end. Racism is a serious issue, but sadly ignored. Thank you for shining a light.

This is a good problem to address because there is still a lot of it going around, even int he 21st century. One would think that it will end one day but I don’t see that happening any time soon. So this project would hopefully speed up the process, and end this problem that is get old and tired.

I think that this idea is something that is needed at this time. I think people have gotten comfortable just because sometimes racisim isn’t as “in your face” as it was back in the days of Dr. King. But, we cannot act like racism does not exist in everyday life. I wish you the best of luck on your project, and using the internet, especially YouTube, is a GREAT way to get the word out there.

It is good about how you are trying to implement the “pay it forward” factor. It is so hard to do things all by yourself and it’ll be very helpful if other people could start to help you suppress racism. I think you are doing very well with this project since you are using things that young people are constantly using such as Facebook and Youtube.com to get your message out.
