what i can do to help

After doing my last blog on problems in the world, I realized I left out a major one that affects the youth today more than violence or economical issues its sex. Sex, especially teenage and young adult sex leads to more sexually transmitted diseases, as well as pregnancies and abortions. I am sure that if i looked up statistical information on the age ranges of women that are pregnant and or have abortions the age range would be from 14- 25. As I log into facebook I see people that I have went to high school with, and some currently in college with become pregant, contract std’s and much more. If only we took time to get tested, really get to know our partners or even just wait to have sex. No, you dont have to be abstaint, but it is preferred. It is sad to hear cases about young women who have had sex one time with a man or vise versa and contracted a diesease that they can not get rid of. Nothing is more scary than that. Just imagine how the world would be if their were all the different medications there are out there. However, not everyone has insurance. Many people go to free clinics, which are becoming more and more scare due to lack of governmen funding. Yet the government pretends to be concerned about issues related to sex, std’s and pregnancy.
It is amazing that a person can get caught up in a heated sexual moment and forget to do important things such as using protection or even just taking the time to get to know the person. Nobody is perfect and yes we all make mistakes. However, you can’t help but to hope that one mistake doesnt cost you your life, or distress within your life. The music that we listen to on a daily does not help. Many people do not realize the power that music really has. If your happy and listen to sad music, you can become sadden. If you listen to sexual songs it can make you want to engage in sexual activity. It doesn’t mean that you will neccessairily do it but it can open up your mind to the idea of doing so. Yes, it is ideal that we all wait till marriage to engage in sexual activity but that is currently not the reality of most. So if you do decided to have sex be protected. I know people are tired of reading about sexually transmitted diseases and using condoms but I feel that it should continue to be iterated until we see a salient change in the community and the world. Especially here in New Orleans. I am not sure of the Std rates but I know pregnancy among young people is very high. It is even more sad when it is a single parent situation. However, I can admit that most women with children I have seen a father some where close behind. I am not saying they are all active, but more active here in this city than in my own home town Detroit. I can only hope that by advising people of new statistic, footage and up-to-date information they will be compelled to make a change not only in their lives but in the lives of others as well. No, i am no perfect person but I can say I have the honor of being one of the few people under the age of 25 who have never contracted an std or been pregnant. That is truly a hard thing to come bye. I hope that with my project I can teem up with health servicies of Xavier University as well as various organizations on campus to put the word out their and enlighten our people. It would be even better if this information can be passed out within the community. More importantly if churches were willing to pass out the information. It is not right for a church to pretend such things are not happening when they are. If any place should advise people of what to do, although they are sinning, it should be the church. God has given the church the advantage of being able to get through to a community. Therefore they should take advantage of it and spread the information. It is only right to emphasize an abstain lifestyle but it is alos important to remain realistic and deal with the people that are before them. I look forward to seeing change in the community and the world.
The alphabelt democratize civilization because in a way it needed to be understood by all. This allowed people to communicate with one another and understand. It opened the door for it to be interpreted even by other cultures and they too could create their own form of language. This helped with the progression of civilization to what it is now. The hardest thing to imagine was the world with no vowels. Seems to me every word contains a vow, so the original formation of words was quite interesting. Archaeology helps Bible scholars in that they find hisorical information that can be interpreted and related to ancient religious times. Not only for Christianity, and Islam but for other religions or practices that focus on a specific god or idol of some kind. Archeologist have found pyramids, scribes, and many other shrines that can all be correlated to the Bible. Archaeologist have also found papers or documents that have important information relating to religion. Something that grabs my attention is the documentation that has been found that is supposedly parts of the Bible that were left out. I do believe that is a possiblility. God may have told people what to write and how to peace things together but people are human and some might have left things out that they did not want other to know. It seems to me this is a decision that could have been made by people in charge, the catholics and or jews.
