(My Project)Youth with a Brighter Future

I believe one of the biggest problems the world has to day is nose people, America is the nosiest country butting into every one else’s business when we don’t even have our selves together. We have people being put on the streets because we don’t provide them with the resource we have plenty of, Education. Then thing that makes the world go round today in the twenty first century is money, yet we don’t know how to handle it. My age group is known as the big spenders, but we don’t know how to keep money. Many of use in our future will not know how to manage a mortgage, pay bills and provide for our families. Coming from a family that has never been financially stable I understand that I need to make a mental change now so I can help my future. I want to put on a kids camp were pre-teen of the middle school age come and mange their own businesses houses and car payment. They need a reality check other then the “bowlers” the see on television. With the help of volunteer Xavier student there will be a summer camp course ready for a new group of student every weekend. This may not sound like a big thing to change the world but if you picture the long run, if this program stretches across America is would not only help out economy but it would allow America to start leading by example.

I honestly think that this is a good idea and that it will change the world. If alot of college students had this around when they were in middle school and “preteen age” then a lot of us would know how to save money. I think that this will challenge the kids and cause to look at money in a different life. One thing though that might be a little hectic is every weekend. Maybe you could try every other weekend just so you could give the volunteers time to think about new things or senarios to add to the business, house, and car. But this is a really good idea that the volunteers and children would enjoy.

I think that your project is a good idea. Many youth these days don’t know what it means to manage their finances. The camp that you are talking about starting is a great thing and I think that it will be very successful. It has the potential to teach some youth from all backgrounds something that they otherwise wouldn’t be exposed to. I think that this camp would make them better adults and would probably lead to a lot less people in the world with outstanding debt before their 30. One more comment is that you make sure you proofread your work before publishing it. GREAT JOB!

We definitely need to start with our youth. They are the most impressionable group of people and they need guidance. Your project will aid the adolescents and prepare them for the future.

I think that you project is very interesting and original. Putting together a camp to educate kids on money and using it wisely is a cool idea. It an even better idea because teaching children at a young age, the value of a dollar is very important. At times we want all these things we cant really afford and that puts us in debt. If people were educating on how to manage their money our economy would be in a much better shape. I like you idea and I wish you luck with your camp.

This is a great idea Deanna. I also come from a family who’s money management skills are poor. I think by starting children off at a young age about finances will defiantly help prepare them for the future. I know for a fact that if the program run’s smoothly it will grow each year. One suggestion is that you should go to the school of Business and talk about it with their department chair I’m sure they have some accounting major’s who might want to help you out. I’m a broadcast/Marketing major. So if you need help with marketing the program just contact me. Also you should start going into schools now and talk to the principals f there school to see of they would endorse the program who will encourage their parents to let their child in the program

That is a great project. I actually want to do something like this in the summer time, i believe that kids our age and younger don’t know the value of a dollar and are very spolied. If many would have a reality check like you said then it would open thier eyes to our society and what it means to live on your own and pay your own bills. Good Job.

now tis was a smart project to do because our generation does in fact spend money like its going out of style, but in fact money is going out of style, the value of a dollar this day and time isn’t nearly as strong as it was say in the 60’s and 70’s so i would say to make your camp make since show our generation the the evolution and the decline and near down fall of the dollar then show how and why saving money is cool. this is a sure way to get ur point across and also display what will happen and why if we continue to splurge on this that are not necessities.

The United States is extremely nosey! I think it would be great to gather information about what the US is lacking and ask them to focus on them. Also point out mistakes that the US have made in helping another country but not helping our own, Katrina example. Funding for this project maybe hard to get but if you can find wealthy democratic people with a strong voice thats a good startt. also money management is important to mention not only for the US government but the people as well, especially young people! Way to go ! Keep it up!

Try to find some more stuff you can do this semester instead of over the summer. Also, it’s nosey. You say “nose people”. Can you think of more specific ways to increase privacy? What about educating yourself about wire tapping and spreading information about what the government has done post 911?

First of all I just want to say vote Obama for president…. And yea I do believe that America is NOSEY and our age group like to spend money. I think that it may have something to do with the slight depression we’re experiencing with the economy; in order to bypass our dept, alot of us spend money to save money, as crazy as it sounds.

i like you idea. it reminds me of a financial plannig class i took in high school. and like you said it gave me a reality check. i taught me that one day i would need to take care of myself and family so i needed to do something wit my life and be an example to those with no hope.

I agree that we are some big spenders and need to take some classes on how to manage our money. This is a great Idea, I believe it is never to early to learn how to manage one’s money. I think that maybe you should also think about setting up a program like this for college level students, becasue with the many loans we have to take out, we should know how are spending will effect our ability to pay these loans back when we graduate.

I think that your project is very good. We really need to have a class here at Xavier to tell people about money management, because that will really help people for the future of their professional careers.

I think that this is a great idea for a project. I think that alot of teenagers do not understand the importance of saving money and how it will be beneficial to them in the long run.
