Enuma Elish and Genesis have similarities and differences. One similarity is that they explain the earth in the same way. Another similarity is the act of divine speech. The fact that God spoke and the things that he spoke happened. The same things happen in Enuma Elish. The order in which these things were said to be formed on earth is the same in both stories as well. One difference is the way God in Genisis speaks things into existence. The phrase is, “And then God said let there be…and it was so. In Enuma Elish things weren’t spoken into creation by a certain phrase. The Tiglath-Pileser Principle seems to be about the Assyrian King Ashur and how he wrote a record of his victories engraved on copper plates in a fortress he built to secure his conquests that he had made.
