My comments on my project have been very helpful and insightful. They were all positive with great ideas that I put into consideration everyone’s thoughts and opinion. It seems like everyone has or wants to know more information about the Aids Epidemic. I like the idea of doing something different than an ordinary informational. I was thinking more on the lines of everyone tells each other what they know about Aids and then maybe asking some true of false question. I like the idea or a general sit down discussion. I have been thinking about this project for a while and wondering how I am going to put some of these aspects together. I believe that in due time it will all fall together in place and become a project that is informal to me and all my peers. I don’t know for sure if I can get everyone’s corporation and input since everyone thinks they already know about Aids and it effects. Like always challenges are here to be conquered and not to defeat you. If anyone has any other insight on what I should do or what would make this process run more smoothly, I would love any comments.
Any ways, many want to know what a Decalogue is, it is pretty much a fancy way to say The 10 commandments. It is a list of moral imperatives that God gave to Moses so that people would have set guidelines that they need to follow. It was also made to show that god was real and that he was very powerful and all mighty. My favorite commandment is: Thou shalt not commit adultery. I know that I am young but this commandment intrigues me in many different ways. In class we learned that this means that both adulteries have to be married in order for it to be adultery. Today adultery is taken all out of context; many think that adultery means just having an affair with some that is married. Like for example one of our former presidents Bill Clinton was thought to be having am affair with Monica Lewinski, I was small when this happen but I remember people calling it adultery. Technically it wasn’t that big of a deal because Monica wasn’t married. The reason why this is my favorite commandment is because it is the commandment that is so blown out of proportion. Older people like my grandmother and great grandmother honor adultery more than my age or younger. Today they are called swingers and experimentalist, which I don’t agree with. I think that when one man and one woman are bought together under holy matrimony then that their relationship should only be between them. I feel as though God new that they were going to be men and women out in the world who wanted more than their significant other could offer, so he made this commandment especially for them. Adultery doesn’t seem like it would be a commandment that would be part of the top ten but in the same sense it seemed as if God was warning us of things that could happen if we did break this commandment. I think a reaction of this commandment is the outbreak of certain sexually transmitted diseases that curable and those that we can’t cure. Either way we are suffering from it so this commandment is special.
I don’t believe that the patriarchs and matriarchs are either good or bad role models. They either have very good qualities or bad qualities about themselves. They try to lead by examples and wither lead their people to a new and promising situation or doom them for life. People say lead my example, but what if the example that you’re portraying isn’t a very healthy one. Take Hitler for example, many thought that he was a great leader and everything that he was saying was right and just, that the world only had one problem and needed a master race. He being like a patriarch in Germany caused thousands of deaths that go down in history for every. Even in biblical times there were great kings that were smart and choose what they said and or did carefully and thought about how it would affect everyone. There are also leaders who are only in it for themselves and the love of great fame and money. To me it all boils down to what you believe is right to you.
