Above is a graph that featured in my presentation to young teens showing the rates of teen pregnancy in different countries. These countries included the United States, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. As you can see the United States has the highest rate of all. At this point my project was going well. I had just finished talking to my church’s youth group. The young teen were very responsive to my topic. Normally I imagined they would just take this as another lecture but they actively responded to my project. The teen also gave me some ideas of how I could expand my project. They even gave me the idea of having an annually month meeting containing topics like teen pregnancy as well as update them on the risk and sexually transmitted diseases that our society is dealing with. I personally think this a great idea. I can definitely see my project going beyond the class. When presented with an idea that can go way beyond your expectations is truly an inspiring thing. The original plan for my project was just to gather some information, statistics, brochures, and pamphlets and pass them out to kids and remind them that each decision they will make is important. But to my surprise this project became much more than. This project became  light of hope and inpiration for some young girls and young men. Each took the message in a different but mostly came to the general idea that they are important and the decisions they make will affect themselves as well those that surround them. The came to understand they do not have to give into peer pressure in order to be liked or be cool but being who they are is the best thing in the world. Each child will interpret my messsage in their own way but the best I must say is that I have their attention. When you recieve someones attention its you know that you are possibly getting through to them. We all know that no matter how much you stress an idea or saying a person will do what they want but I feel in order to reach a person you must first listen to  them and reach their level of understanding.  I truly feel that this project is a blessing just to know that I will get through to one person it is the best feeling in the world. When someone spreads your message or puts your knowledge to use it speaks highly of you and tells what kind of person you are. I think people can really see that I am truly genuine with this project and have put my all into it. I feel that our project are not a solo affair but it is a group project indirectly we have put in our comments and suggestions to help the other fellow students to do their best and make sure that if they have a problem they can turn to anyone of us for support or advice. This project is definitely an eye-opener for me as well as young teens. The whole point of my project was instill some belief and encouragement into young children who did not believe in themselves and felt that no matter what they did they could not make a difference. I want each of them to know that their good work is not going unnoticed. That no matter what they always turn to me or someone they can confide in and let them know the struggles they are going through and know from the start that they will not be judged because of their wrong decisions. Instead of judging I will the most postive feedback that I can be true about my answers and let them know that we are all not perfect. We all make mistakes it just a matter if you learn from them.

During the time of Jesus many were not liked because of their race, where they lived, being a woman, as well some others. Jesus looked at everyone as equal. He did not discriminate against anyone because of where they lived, who their parents were and what kind of mistakes they may have made. Jesus definitely felt everyone should love one another. We are all not that different. Sure our beliefs and goverments may be different but when it comes down we all face the same trials and tribulations and I believed Jesus was the only one who saw this during his time. Jesus wanted everyone to see what he saw. Jesus knew each and every person was their own individual but when we all came together we were  a family. And many people are not capable to see but Jesus did. He wants his message to reach everyone and let them know that we are the same no matter how different our cultures maybe. We all are truly one.

Yes, I would have to say that my project is counter cultural. I want implement a change in our society. I understand that not every countries or cultural has this problem to our extent but they are exposed to the epidemic. My social change is to help all girls and boys make the right decision and carefully think of how they will affect the ones that surround them. More than half of the decisions we make are long term decisions and having unprotected sex is one of them.  I feel that I am a speaker for change. I am going against thinking and accepting girls getting pregnant at a young age is okay. It is not. These girls have their whole life ahead of them.  As I have stressed each decision has a consequences and these teens need to know that not all consequences are good ones. The change I pushing for is a hard one but I know with the support of other I can do it. I want to make a difference in someones life. Even if it is just on child, it a life that I am help saving and giving the child control of their destiny.
