Christians always refer to the bible as a guide to help them through their life. Every Christian that believes in the bible will look at the book of Revelation and relate it to our present life as we progress through the years. Every book in the bible is a message from God on its own that should be used to help us walk the way to eternity. The book of Revelation includes a lot of prophecies about the end of the world and the second coming of Christ. As bible believers, we should look at what the bible is telling us in every book.

Christians always look at their lives and the issues that are happening in the world around them and try to relate it to the bible and the messages that God is trying to tell them. In every year, decade and century, people see the wars and diseases as some of the prophecies of the end of the world. However, as life progresses, things get harder and as it gets harder people may think that the end of the world is sooner than they thought it would be. I think that there are a lot of influences from the outside disasters and the like that affects the decision of people and makes them think that the end of the world is soon. For example, people, now, may think that the end of the world is not very far because of the wars, diseases, natural disasters and catastrophes that the whole world is facing. When one refers back to the bible, we are warned about all these prophecies as signs of the end of the world. However, we have to understand that the bible did not specify the amount of time that we have to deal with these signs. Years in our definition maybe days in God’s eyes; therefore, nobody can really say when we will have to face the end of the world. Although it is impossible to figure out a date or have an idea about the second coming, I believe that it is essential to keep in mind that it might be soon. I believe that Christians throughout history want to believe that the end of the world will happen in their lifetime because they use it as a reminder and a motivation to keep themselves ready at any time. Any the bible, Jesus mentioned that the Son of God would come like a thief, when nobody knows the time or the hour. Therefore, as Christians we should always be ready just like the five wise virgins.

We didn’t watch the Bible movie, even though it was something that I was looking forward to in class. Due to Xavier’s broken projector and computer, we weren’t able to.

This class allowed me to express my thoughts and my critics on various levels. The discussions held in class, the project and the blogs were the main way I got to practice that right. I thought it was very exciting to be able to do so in an effective and constructive manner; therefore I took those matters seriously. If I had to judge my performance in this class through my blogs and my project, I believe that I deserve an A. I made sure I met all the criteria and the requirements to make me qualified for such a grade. I did my best throughout the whole class by participating in every activity I was asked to do. I did all the blogs required in the class. As I wrote the blogs, I felt that I have a very good understanding of the discussions and lectures we talked about in class. I was able to elaborate about each topic up to 1000 words, which indeed was not an easy task. As for my project, I talked about poverty, which is a topic that we have to face now everywhere in the world. I could not imagine that someone in the class would disagree that such a topic will not help with the improvement of the world. Overall, my project and my blogs show that I was able to think critically and discuss various topics that were presented to me in the course. They were also a reflection on Xavier’s mission to promote a more humane society. However, I have to mention that I might have turned in the blogs later than I should, which might indicate to some that I have been procrastinating, when I really was not. This semester was definitely not an easy semester for my family or me. I faced a lot of hard times form the beginning of the semester, when my family and I knew about my grandmother’s situation. My grandmother became very sick since early January and then the doctors informed us that she would no be able to make it any longer than a month which was a great shock to my family. Since the sad news, we all could not stop ourselves from staying around her day and night to make sure she knows that we were all there for her with our love and time. It was hard for me to keep up with all the work when I was spending most of my time at the hospital with her until she passed away on March 10th. Moreover, recently, a close friend to the family just passed away too with bone cancer. As I mentioned earlier, this semester was a very tough one for me, however, I made sure that my blogs were turned in and were well written. I truly believe that I deserve an A for this class, and I really hope that my instructor would see all the effort I put into this class to be were I am at now.
