I have informed may people about the religion of Islam.  This is very important, and it really does make the world a better place.  It makes the world a better place because there is a lot going on in the Middle East right now and Islam is always in the media. Informing people about the Islamic religion addresses the issue of ignorance about the Islamic religion.   The fact that many people know absolutely nothing about the Islamic religion is worrisome because there are a lot of misconceptions floating around out thee that people just easily believe.  Like for example, Muslims are terrorists.  I met many people that are afraid of Muslims because of what they hear from the media.  The bottom line is people are afraid of what they don’t know.  By making a video informing people about Islam and posting it on YoutTube I am able to use the media to reverse people’s understanding about the Islamic religion.  When people don’t know about something they tend to discriminate and fear what they don’t know.  This discrimination can lead to many harmful things.  I think this is a huge problem in our world today since Islam is the second largest religion in the world.   It is also important to learn the true beliefs of this religion because there is so much going on in the Middle East today (wars), which is where Islam is most practiced. As a result of the conflicts in the Middle East, Islam is mentioned in the media daily.  However, the information that is given about it is not accurate most of the time.  Islam is the most misunderstood religion.  Due to the conflicts and turmoil in the Middle East people think that the religion is all about fighting, but they are wrong.  Islam means submission to God and it is a religion that was built on peace.  My project is a great way to inform as many people as I can about the truth of the Islamic religion and its beliefs.   I had many ideas in my head; unfortunately I was not able to implement all of my ideas.  However, I think the video was the biggest part and would reach the most people.  One thing I thought about doing is making a video to post on YouTube.   Someone also gave me the idea to create a group on Face book.  I’m also thinking about making brochures or small pamphlets containing some basic information about the religion later on after the class is over.  For my video I interviewed Xavier students about how much they knew about Islam.  I also asked them about their opinion about the Islamic religion and what they heard from the media pertaining to Islam.  Many people said they don’t believe what they hear from the media; however, they didn’t know anything about Islam.  My video basically contains the interviews and some information pertaining to the questions that I asked in the interviews.

Jesus was crucified for two reasons.  The first reason Jesus was crucified was because he was counter cultural.  Jesus healed people on the Sabbath when he was supposed to rest.  In addition, he would talk to the sinners even though no one talked to him.  This was a big deal because no one talked to them.  It was against the Jew’s law to prosecute anyone therefore; they were not able to kill Jesus.  As a result, they made the Romans come and kill him.  Jesus always said “my Kingdom” and he was talking about heaven.  However the Jews told the Romans that Jesus was referring to Cesar’s kingdom and that Jesus wanted to take it away from him.  As a result, the Romans were determined to kill Jesus and they did.  The second reason that Jesus was crucified was to save all his people from their sins.  The video is still in progress.
