When reading the comments that people posted on my blog, I was very happy to see that people were actually keen on the idea of learning about other cultures. It made me really want to do a great job on having a culture month here at Xavier University. I have in the past traveled to Europe and one thing i really enjoted were the different cultures. I have been to Poland and witnessed the folk songs, dances, and unique food they had to offer and it was really refreshing to see different things. I have been to Greece and seen the simple beauty in old mythological ruins, and I have been to Paris and just enjoyed how they not only have a history of being a epicenter of thoughts and ideas in old europe, but they also have a diverse group of outside cultures that I think rivals New Orleans and New york. I really want to do a good job bringing different things from across the globe to people who otherwise couldn’t go, didn’t know, or didn’t care and perhaps make them care. Also it would be good for foreign students to somewhat feel at home here on campus. My idea for this event may only be for a month, but hopefully it changes peoples mind and enlightenes some people here on campus for ever.
