Week 6
My project is coming along ok I have to get all the exact details worked out and outline. Then I need to collaborate with the school and some companies that my like to donate some supplies of maybe even funding to help get this ball rolling. There is an after school program here at Xavier that helps children with their home work and it gives them some where to stay till their parents get off work. With my program it will take place two days out of the week. The children will filter in as they finish their homework. I have spoken with the coordinator of this program who also works with the Max office. The program will take place out side in the grassy area of the quad so the students can get fresh air. When it is to cold or raining we will switch and head in to the ballroom. This will benefit the program the most because the students parents already pick them up from in the ball room and instead of waiting for them in the cafeteria the kids can continue to have fun. So maybe I will just start in the ballroom and go out side occasionally. I feel really good about this project I think a lot of people will be able to benefit from it.
I like this class to tell you the true, I live to know where things come from and how they work. My goal is to because a college professor and teach others the word of God. That the bible is the most dramatic action filled, and comedic book ever. There is no time setting for learning something new because education is timeless. For most people it is hard to view things from the past because we don’t think if pertains to us, but it does. I say that I want to be a college professor but right now I don’t care. I am to worried about grades, and financial aid that I don’t want to stress myself out about my future. Worrying if I am going to make enough money or even it my grades are high enough to get into grad school. Because I know every year counts and there are no take backs. This class provides a comic relief away from all my regular formatted classes. When you are passionate about what you are learning about you retain it better, and you also want to share it with others.
I don’t like the term feminist criticism it seems a little derogative. But I do believe it was the window that opened up opportunities for other criticisms. Women I believe first got their stereotype threw this criticism. It used the limited stories and generalized them. Women are not weak first off, and we are not always sexual. Just because the women in the bible used their bodies to their benefit does not make them bad. Men in the bible were either pushing or the main drive that pushed the woman’s actions. Like Abraham having his wife act like his sister so they could deceive the king. But since it worked out greatly for him, and the king was not all that angry, and then it was not that big of a deal. Most of the actions women had to take in the bible where more on the violent side, such as cutting off the heads when the man was in a vulnerable position, like sleeping. Women in my perspective where down played because men at the time had a drastic fear that they may be inferior to the seduction of women. This fear also may be some what internally embedded in the minds of the men today. It also may be an inadvertent mind set for women as well. The men from the passed have made them feel inferior and unworthy. Women need to start being the agent of their own destiny and living for them selves not for a man, and not for the potential of finding a man.
The midterm went well for me I think. Of course like any test most people work hard on one specific section and then neglect to look at the other sections as sufficiently. For me personally the hardest sections on the test where, the five who says to Whom in Which Book of the Bible, and the articles. The articles were hard because I only understood and could summarize two of the four articles. That left me with a fifty fifty chance, luckily for me on my exam I got one of the two that I knew which was Odysseus’ Scar. Even then I relied partly on previous knowledge I had about Odysseus. This helped me too fill in some blanks. The Who says to Whom in Which Book of the Bible was hard because most of the speakers were male most of the story lines were the same. Some one gets in to trouble or does another person wrong, gets punished by God and travels a long distance. The only other way to get the answer right was to guess that either God was speaking or being spoken to. Since we had to start talking about Jesus and God speaks the most in Geniuses those were the two answers I picked the most. I ended up with a Con the midterm which was to that bad but I could have gotten an A. I would have started studying sooner as well as stayed on top of my reading. Ant when I want to study with my study group, we should have gotten together more often and started studying sooner. Since we waited to met up at seven at night we were all tire and ready to go home and relax. I was in a group with four other people each of whom got a different grade then I. We had the opportunity to retake the test and get a higher grade but the grade on the second test would be the ultimate one on your sheet. I was going to have to go back and look up some things I had passed before but I knew I didn’t have enough time to restudy for the test retake and still stay on top of the current information in this class as well as my others. My over all grade was a B, it would benefit me more to keep that rather then risk it.

I am glad that your project is going the way you have planned it. I also believe that it is important to spread the word of God to everyone that is willing to listen. We don’t know the answer to everything and we are not suppose to know why things happen the way to do. But I believe that when we know God and why we are here then the answers will become clearer. Good Job.
