My Grade, Bible Movie, & the End of the World

It’s the day after Thanksgiving and I am glad to say that my day was peaceful and I was around all the people I love. I was able to eat all the food I desired and my mom cooked so I get first dibs on the leftovers. This morning I woke up to attend all the sales. Next year I think I will stay in bed because I really did not want anything but clothes. But I woke up out of love and my boyfriend was able to get his computer that he has been crying for. But anyways back to this week’s blog topics. The main question of this week’s blog is what grade do I feel that I deserve on my blog and project. I feel that I deserve an “A” on both the blog and my project. Receiving an “A” requires the fulfillment of many requirements. The first requirement is if nearly everyone in the class would agree that my project improved the world. Well considering the comments that were left on my blog, majority of my classmates were encouraging and did not leave any comments saying that my project was wrong or going in the wrong direction. They were all excited and agreed with me on my project choice. Majority of my blogs included updates and information about my project and it showed all the work I put into completing my project. I was able to start and successfully complete my project. I even sent off various letters to the mayor of New Orleans and the president elect Barack Obama, but there were no answers on how to improve or any help offered for my project. I stayed commit to completing my project even though I had other responsibilities I had to attend to first. After completing my project I was able to see how I help the world. I have helped to improve the world by acknowledging a major problem, addressing it, and fixing the problem the best way possible. By reaching out to underprivileged children, I was able to influence them. The children will remember this event and will be able to pass on the goals of my project because the children of today are tomorrow’s future. I feel that I also helped improve the world because I did not create a project that was to large to handle which would ultimately create a failure. My blogs also prove that I keep up with the readings and understood the lectures presented in class. I was also faithful to writing my blog every week making sure that it was posted on time and included all the required topics and questions answered. I also committed to blogging more the one thousand words per blog and also provided pictures of my successful project and a logo to represent what I was out to achieve. The reason why I feel that I should receive an “A” is because I truly worked hard on my project and on completing the blogs. I made them both a priority and with out a doubt completed my work on time and in full. I feel that my blogs are self explanatory for my understanding of the work and it proves my ability to clearly communicate and think critically. My project proves my ability to think critical because I was able to create a project, expanded it, and evolve the project to provide the best results. My blog showed how I am able to relate ideas about the bible to various aspects and ideas of life. For example answering the question of why is there no such thing as the bible. When first reading the question is seemed as if it would be difficult to answer because of my beliefs and the fact that I believe that there is a bible. But I was able to step outside of my comfort zone and analyze the question, and after hearing the lecture I was able to find a valid answer. One angle to look at the answer to the question was that God did not sit down and actually write the bible for us to read. A famous line from Xavier’s Mission statement is to create a just and humane society. I feel that my project has done just that because it has helped benefit many people while helping to make the world a better place. It also says that the students should assume roles of leadership and service in the society. By creating my project and taking a stand and completing it shows that I am able to take on a leadership role and complete the roles of a leader. My project also provided a service to the community and benefited people in need. Taking into consideration everything that I have just blogged about, I hope that you to believe that I deserve an “A” on my blog and project. The next topic that was supposed to be addressed for this week’s blog is to write about the Bible movie that was watched in class. But we actually did not watch a movie. The two days that were reserved on the syllabus to watch the movie, the classes were cancelled. I actually wished I was able to view the movie because movies about the bible are particularly interesting. Most movies try to make the bible come to life but sometimes they tend to create something that was not necessarily in the bible. But since I could not see the movie at least I was able to sleep late. Another topic that had to be addressed was why most historic Christians believed that the world will end in within their lifetime. I found that many Christians believed that after Jesus’ death he would return to for his followers. Many people believed if they were to ever see Jesus, it would be a sign that the end was near. There are also various bible verses that one could use such as Matthew or Luke that back up the belief of the world will end.
