Week 14 Blog…wrapping things up

1050 words by ldoby2

The first question to be answered in this week’s blog if a very interesting question. I’m not very sure of the answer, but I will give it a shot. I know for me personally, I don’t necessarily think that it will happen in my life time, but I do know that the end times are upon. I have been taught the history of how the world will end at my church. My pastor has preached many sermons on this subject since I have been attending. I think for other Christians, they believe that the end of the world will happen during their life because of something they have been taught in church, seen on the internet, or seen on television. But the Bible says that no man knows the day or the hour when the Lord, will come back and rule Earth, so therefore I don’t think that any Christians should try to even speculate when the event will occur, because there is no way to check. I have heard many Christians say that you have to get you house in order, because the Lord is coming back soon. The history of the end of the world says, that in a twinkling of the eye people will be caught in the rapture, to see the Lord. Two people will be asleep in bed, one person will be caught up and the other one will remain on Earth. So as you can see I have heard the story and understand what will happen. But to answer the blog question fully, there is another reason why I speculate that Christians believe that the end of the world will happen during their lifetime, and that is because of the changes that the world is going through today especially since the beginning of the 2000’s. The present times of the world are also giving rise to why most Christians believe this. The economy is bad, the weather is changing, and a number of other things are making people think this way. The teaching of this history isn’t to scare anyone, but it is simply a way of making people reflect upon themselves, and say perhaps I should turn my life over to God and be ready for the rapture when it comes.
On to my second blog question. My overall grade I think in this class, should be a B. I really don’t know why I say a B, maybe because that is what I got for mid-term and that’s what I pray to God that I get for my final grade. An A would be great too! But I do think that my blog entries were pretty good. I blogged 1,000 words every time I needed to. As far as my project goes, I am really happy how it turned out. I know that I started very big and broad with my idea, but I eventually shrunk it down and actually started to make a difference. In about four months, the kids that I am tutoring, will be taking standardized test, and I’m wishing all of them well and I hope that I have been of some assistance to these kids because my passion was to help some kids feel good about learning and not feel discouraged because maybe they didn’t understand concept that they learned in school. I tell them every time that I see them, do your best in whatever you do. If you don’t understand something on a test then just do the best that you can do. I think that my project deserves a B also just for the simple fact that I started out really broad, and how to narrow that down tremendously. I do still feel that I have made a big difference in at least a few children’s lives. I feel very greatly for the blessing of being able to share my knowledge with some kids and teaching them something that they didn’t know. I would like to say that this class overall has been very enjoyable. I really like the fact that there are no quizzes in this class and that all we have are test, readings, Bible mysteries, and our blog. The blog really was my most enjoyable part of the class. Getting to write your feeling on given topics is always helpful and relaxing to me. Hey and I just thought of something, the question when Dr. Homan asked us how this class pertained to us getting to the next level in our career or something to that effect, I just thought of a way it has helped tremendously. We blog every week on a given topic, which is something that you will have to do on the MCAT, or the DAT, or on some type of test that you will encounter, throughout your professional career. I guess back then when this question was in the blog entry, I wasn’t thinking hard enough which Dr. Homan asked us to do. Anyway this class has taught me a lot of things about the Bible, that I didn’t know such as the different translations of the Bible and among other things. I recommend this class to anyone, who hasn’t taken an introductory level theology yet and I tell them that if they like typing on various topics, then this is the class for them. One of my friends I think will be taking this class next semester and I told them that you must blog your required 1,000 words a week on the topics given. Answer the questions fully and stay on topic. Proofread the work and be on time submitting the blog every week and you should be A OKAY. I would again like to say that this has really been a great semester in this class and that I have enjoyed it. If Dr. Homan is teaching an upper level theology class, I would be happy to sign up maybe fall 2009, I kind of want to take some other electives before I tackle another theology course. Everybody take care. Have a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! GOD BLESS BARACK OBAMA, 44TH PRESIDENT!
