President of the United States of America,

I am a senior who attends Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana. As you may know, within our state’s communities, we are experiencing a huge problem with dirt and pollution. In order to prevent this problem, I set up a small project to celebrate recycling, and throwing away trash. From this experiment, I realized that many people are interested in renewing the New Orleans area, but do not have much motivation to do so. I believe that if there were more acknowledgements of the city, and the slight progress that have come about, there would be more participants in this movement. I am writing to ask if there is anything that could be done in order to help reach out to the city, as well as surrounding areas who suffer from this dilemma. I believe that there are a lot of issues within the world that you may be forced to deal with; but if possible, please consider New Orleans.

Thank you in advance

Norman C. Francis

After a recent experiment that I conducted in Professor Homan’s class, a huge issue came to thought. An issue that many people consider too small to consider, but after analyzing the consequences, I believe them to be very critical. This is an issue of pollution within the city. I think this is an important issue, because the city is a reflection of us. If the people in the community do not take care of their environment, then no one else would. I write to ask if there is any possible way to inform people about the importance of a clean city. I think if we start informing the students at Xavier, then the message would expand throughout the city. I come to you because of the huge amount of recognition that you get throughout the New Orleans area and the world in general. Please consider this notion in hope for us to come together to renew this city in hope to change the world.

I am writing to inform you of a recent problem that I believe to be a crucial situation regarding the city of New Orleans. I realized that pollution is a problem that many students do not consider. I am writing to ask if there are any programs that we could establish in order to address our pollution problem. If we start with the students, we could just imagine where else our message would be heard. I understand that there are other problems regarding our school, but image is an important concept also. This is something that we must apply to our everyday life, and I jus ask if you would help in this movement to make a change.

Andre Jefferson

I believe that the president of the United States could help because we all know that he is a man of change, and that is all my project consists of. I think that because he have the power to address and change many things regarding the United States, that it would not be too hard to address an issue within a small community. I think that Norman C. Francis could help because of his popularity within the community and around the world. This is a man who has been considered the longest running president in a historically black college, and that is a title of respect. Dean Byrd I believe to have power within the school and have a good amount of control over the establishment of organizations on campus. I think the dean could allow the students to organize recycling fundraisers and organizations that promote the fight against pollution. African American criticism is a useful tool so we could better understand the thoughts and beliefs held against us. I believe that there is much to learn and much to gain.
