Everyone has their own interpretations of the bible, and of the many biblical concepts. As we read certain books within the bible, many people relate to the messages differently. What one term means to one person may mean another thing to another person. This is a concept that could be considered within the Christian community and within the world in general. In many cases, certain group of people posses beliefs about certain things that they gather from oral communication, or logical truths. Certain cultures posses’ beliefs about many things that are held within that culture, and the community this culture resides. Thinking about the holy book; and many of the concepts that it posses, we tend to believe that the followers will take heed to the words and insights. Although many of the concepts within the bible are meant to tell a particular story, many Christians tend to analyze these concepts differently. There is much debate about the concepts of the bible and the meaning of the parables that the bible include. One book that is considered within the Christian community is the book of Revelation. Revelation is stated to be the most confused book within the bible, but many Christians gather the same meanings from this book. One statement that is made within this final book of the bible is that the world will end and the lord will soon return. It is said that God will return so we must continue to follow his word. Many believe that what was considered the end is the death. Others believe that when we receive death, we would have the opportunity to see God. Relating to the Y2K scare, the acts of terrorism, ad the natural disasters, people are still frightened by the thought of the world ending. On a personal note, during the Rodney King period; as he was beaten and the officers were let lose, later came the riots. Seeing many of the destruction as a child, all I could do was ask what was going on. I was unaware of what allowed many of the people within my own community to become so angry; and cause such destruction. Within this period, the officer evacuated in order to refrain from injury and death. I watched the high amounts of violence and hatred that my own people presented within my city and it forced me to become helpless. I was not sure of the consequences that the riots would present or how it would play out, but I knew that there was fear all over the world. As a child this was my first presentation of high violence and anger so due to this, I thought the world was about to end. During the attacks in New York and other cities, I was still in high school. We were informed about what was going on in class, and was told to go home early. There was high caution within the southern California region and we were told that the terrorist planned to attack Los Angeles next. As fear was presented in the community, we had a huge blackout across the downtown area, and due to this, I thought the world was going to end. During my sophomore year in college, we experienced the wrath of hurricane Katrina. The power of this hurricane left the city of New Orleans hopeful and alone. I watched the news casters look upon the people with no ability to help. I watched the babies being thrown in the water due to lack of food, and the parents becoming helpless. I watched the water rise higher and higher to the point where there was no informed regulation of direction for the people. This is an experience that forced people all over the world to think that the world was going to end. In many cases, we read revelations, and believe the world will end due to the problems, pain, and experiences that we deal with from a day to day basis. When we think that certain situations could not get any worse, something else happens to remind us that it could. The fact that the book of revelation informs of that one day we would see an ending of the world, we sometimes look for hints and signs to remind us that either God is coming, or god is still here watching over us. I am a young college student that experienced many things in this twenty years of life, so i am very convinced that people who are older than me have experienced more of the trials that I have and are still convinced the world will end during there lifetime. So due to most of the negativity, problems, destructions, and terrorist within the world, people feel that it is only getting worst and that we will one day see the end sooner or later. The movie we watched in our class presented insight about many biblical artifacts that we was either unaware of, or have not been presented to. I believe that the movie shows that we have many historical artifacts, places, and events that are either overlooked or not considered on a daily basis. Observing the people that are in the movie, I could see the passion that is implied in the acts and the cortication works that they participate in. I believe that uncovering many of the old tells could tell a whole story within itself, and could act ally play out the stories within the bible. Although the different archaeologist presents different ideas and beliefs about their findings, i believe it to be very important work. I believe that after completion of all the blogs and with consideration of the aspects included in the blogs, I think that I should receive an ‘A’. Not being cocky or trying to just consider the best grade, I believe that because of many of the situations and limitations, I think I should receive this grade. The blogs are an essential aspect to the class and I believe them to be very helpful toward my life and my final grade. I believe that I should receive an A in order for us to be better people, and for me to graduate in June. I believe that because I am so close to this glorious day that this grade would be the perfect decision and I think God would want me to be successful in life, and this would really help out!
