Big Problems

I think there are a lot of problems that we are facing today in the world. You cannot count how many problems we have in the world. I think some of the big problems that we have today are Terrorism, Pollution, and World Hunger.
Terrorism is such a big problem in this world today. Terrorism and stereotype are problems that keep creating bigger and bigger problems every day. Hundreds and thousands of people die each year to terrorist attacks. Terrorism is present in nearly every country of the world. A definition of terrorism is still yet to be confirmed, but according to Cindy C. Combs’ book “Terrorism in the Twenty-First Century” she defines terrorism as: “a synthesis of war and theatre, a dramatization of the most proscribed kind of violence-that which is perpetrated on innocent victims-played before an audience in the hope of creating a mood of fear, for political purposes.”(Combs, pg 8). Terrorism is a problem of every day person because anyone may suffer from it. Nobody knows when, where, and who will suffer next time. People are afraid to use underground, planes and to stay in crowded places because act of terrorism may happen everywhere. Terrorism is a real problem today. According to scientists, terrorism may be the manifestation of political, social and religious views. Terrorism is the kind of war that people declare. But the worst about this war is that regular people suffer from it. Religious views may also turn people into terrorists. To fight against other religions is the purpose of such terrorists. But of course, most religions teach people to be kind and to respect other people, but not to kill them. Nationalism and racism are also reasons for terrorism. Sometimes people want to form a separate country and they start fighting for it. And terrorism is used in this fight. Terrorism is a very convenient war, it is a good way to influence the enemy and make the enemy obey. The world-known act of terrorism took place on September 11, 2001. Such acts of terrorism make the whole world be afraid of terrorism. A lot of money is spent to fight with it but still terrorism exists and people still suffer from it. It is a huge problem nowadays.
The second problem that I am going to address is Pollution. Pollution is such a big problem that everyone is facing today in the world. Pollution is the introduction to an environment that causes instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the physical systems or living organisms. There are a lot of different kinds of solution, and they are all causing big problems in the world. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances, or energy, such as noise, heat, or light energy. There is also air pollution, water pollution, light pollution, noise pollution; and from my research there is radio spectrum pollution, and many more. Air pollution is the release of chemicals and particulates into the atmosphere. Water pollution is the release of waste products and contaminants into surface runoff into river drainage systems. Light pollution includes light trespass, over-illumination and astronomical interference. Noise pollution includes roadway noise, aircraft noise, industrial noise, and high-intensity sonar. There are a lot of types of pollution, and everyone should think of all those different types of pollutions and try to do something about it, because if we don’t take act into it as fast as we can it will get a lot worse.
The third and last problem that I am going to discuss and concentrate on is World Hunger. This problem is everywhere in the world. It’s also causing many other problems with it as well. This problem is issue is also related to my major, Chemistry Pre-Pharmacy. There are millions of people out there are hungry and many people can’t afford to feed their children and they just suffer to death. I think it’s a very important issue and if we don’t realize it today it will keep growing and cause a lot more problems with it. Every year there are about fifteen million children die of hunger. And according to statistics in every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger, and it is estimated that some 800 million people in the world, suffer from hunger and malnutrition, about 100 times as many as those who actually die from it each year. We need to help those people and find a solution for that issue. “The poor are hungry, and the hungry are usually poor.” There are many reasons for world hunger in the world. World hunger is because of population almost every country has experienced a growth in population, but the greatest impact has been on the world’s poorest countries because they have been experiencing exponential growth in their population. Another reason for world hunger could also be because of priorities. Some people even if they are on debt or don’t have that much care about their comfort. So their high priority is on their comfort and their convenience; and that messes with the world economy, of course. Another main reason for world hunger is poverty. Everyone usually talks about the quality of their life and the standard of their living, but the focus should shift to the mere sustaining of life. I think that’s is one of the biggest issue that we are all facing today in the world, and everyone has to be aware of it now because the longer we wait, the worse it is going to get. And that is also one of the reasons why I chose World Hunger to be My Project.
Yes, I understand Dr. Homan’s plagiarism policy. There is no such thing as “The Bible”, because “The Bible” is several books, it’s a composition of many different stories and books together. There is definitely something that’s called a bible, but there is no such thing as “The Bible” because it’s several books that are put together and translated in many different languages, written by different groups of people.
