Dear President Barack Obama,

Hello, Mr. President it is truely an honor to write you this letter and express to you my opinions and how I feel. My name is Leander Brumfield and my status is I am a sophomore currently enrolled as a full-time student at Xavier University of Louisiana. My major is Chemistry Pre-pharmacy I choose this field as my primary focus in school because I really want to be valuable to my community in the future. I am writing to you because I am enrolled in Mr. Homan’s awesome theology class, and part of this course is to write a blog containing a thousand words every week. Today’s week is to write a formal letter addressing my outlook on problems with today’s world. You were one of the people in this world that I thought should here this. The projects are focused on how  to improve the world and make it a better place for others. My major problem is concerning our community and country and I am asking for your help. The major problem that I see affecting our community is the economy. The economy has got way out of hands, in this day in times people are willing to do anything it takes to get money. Families are being broken down because they can no survive with high mortgages, fear of losing jobs, and prices of gas inflation.Whenever there is a high unemployment rate crime will always rise. The reason for this is because without a steadily paycheck coming in people don’t have the means of paying their bills. Bills have to be paid regardless so people go to other means of getting money rather, selling drugs, robbery, or prostitution. Most people hate to live in a disadvantage situation but has to do whatever means of paying the bills on time. The conomy everywhere is facing a huge crisis, everytime I turn on the news I hear about people losing jobs, jobs closing down, and people losing homes. The Unemployment rate is the only thing in the economy still rises. Whenever hard working middle class people are falling into poverty the government has seriously done something wrong failing Americans everywhere. This is a major issue that needs to be resolved immediately. Thank you so much for spending my time to read my letter, I hope that your able to relate to what I thing what needs to be done in the world to make it better for everyone. Hope you make very wise decisions during your presidential term and won’t forget your promises.

God Bless,

Leander Brumfield

The problem which I am addressing is the terrible economic state that the world is suffering. I feel that something serious needs to be done to put an end to this growing epidemic. I feel bad when I hear about hard working people who worked on there job is being forced to be laid off. People need there jobs for various reasons. Families are being broken and forced to live off the streets. African American criticism is  helpful to scholars because it provides many of the stories in the bible that deal with African nations. It also gives a different view and outlook upon the Eurocentric way of intepreting  the bible.  Scholars looking at the bible and determining how the Bible portrays Africans and their country. This criticism does not look at race merely because race was non-existent in Biblical times. This form of critics also focuses on how people have used the Bible  in the past to work against African Americans.
