Week 14: Grade

One question that I believe no one can answer is when the world will end. There have been many predictions about when the world will end. For example, recall that many people thought that the world was going to end when the new millenium arrived. Fortunately, unless I’m some kind of spirit living in an afterlife, the world still exist. In addition to beliefs that the world was suppose to end in the year 2000, new predictions have been made about when the world will end. This new prediction is that the world will end in the year 2012. The real question that needs to be answered is where do these people get these ideas from. It is believed that the world will end in 2012 because of a prediction made by the Mayans, who’s calender is said to be more accurate than the one in present use. The Mayans predicted that the world is going to end on December 21, 2012 at 11:11am. However, how could the Mayans know when it is said in the Bible that only God knows for sure when the time will be for the world to end. In my opinion, I’m sure my life on this planet will end, which marks the end to the world as I know it, but I don’t think the entire world will end, at least not anytime soon.
Many Christians in history that do believe the world will end in their lifetime. Many Christians believe that end of the world will be marked by the return of Jesus Christ. They believe that the particular events that will mark the return of Jesus, such as wars, famine, and earthquakes, are occurring in our present day. Christians interpret signs of the end of the world from sources located in the Bible, including Matthew 24, Paul’s epistles, and the Book of Revelation. Nevertheless, what these Christians are doing is being mislead by interpretations of others. As stated earlier in this blog entry, no one can be certain of when the world is going to end. Jesus hasn’t even designated a date for the world to end, which is evident in the following passage: “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” “Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with the hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.” “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” (Matthew 24:36, 40 & 42). Those Christians who do believe that the world will end in their lifetime is simply going by the events that are said to mark the return of Jesus Christ. They believe that these events are occurring in the world today, such as war among different nations and natural disasters that seem to be happening more frequently. Overall, Christians may believe that the world is going to end in their lifetime, but they really don’t know, noone does; only God knows.
Unfortunately, this semester, we didn’t get the chance to watch the Bible movie.
I think my overall grade for my blog entries and project should be an A. For starters, let’s discuss why I think my overall grade should be an A for my blog entries. One reason I think my overall grade should be an A is because every single one of my blogs entries were carefully executed. I took the time out to really think about what I was writing when doing my blog entries and I made certain that each blog entry was 1000 words long. Even though I procrastinated alot, I got my work done. When I didn’t fully understand a question that I had to answer, regarding the course material, I did a little research. Doing research enabled me to learn more about the material that was discussed in class. Keeping in mind that I have other extensive courses, I took my time with each blog and as you read my blogs, I’m sure that’s evident. I tried my best not to have any grammatical errors in my blogs entries, but a computer keyboard is a tricky accessory; it has a mind of it own. Overall, I feel like I put a lot of work into the blogs to make them presentable to whomever shall read them. Now I am going to discuss why I think my project contribute to me believing that my overall grade should be an A. Global warming is a major problem, it far to big for one person to face alone. However, I went up for the challenge of deciding to do something about global warming. With limited resources I was able to plant a garden, I was also able to pass out flyers in my community listing simple ways that we all can contribute in the fight against global warming. Although my project may not be as magnificent as a food drive, I feel like I made a difference in the world. I feel like I made a difference because a portion of the people in my community know more about global warming. I wanted to go and plants trees in an area around the tip of Louisiana, which is a part of organization that dedicated to coastal restoration, but as a jobless student, without a car, I am limited to the number of things I can do. Overall, I think my overall grade should be an A because I worked hard on my blog entries and I executed my project; I deserve to have an A, I’m not seeking for it to be given to me. Unfortunately, it doesn’t really matter what I THINK my grade should be because it’s the professor’s decision, based on what he has evaluated. On that note, I think I’ll end my entry here, thanks for reading!
Hopefully, next semester, I can participate in planning more forums concerning the well-being of our environment, including global warming. My mission to contribute to the fight against global warming doesn’t stop once this course is over, it’s actually just beginning.

Hope you’re able to continue to address/educate others about global warming.
