And the A’s Have It!!!

So far everyone that has completed blog 14 feels that they should receive an overall grade of an A. I agree with some of them but not all. If our grade is to be determined by diligence, determination and perserverence when it comes to our projects and blogs I believe my final grade for the project and blogs should be an A. I think that my work in this class has been just as much as the work in other classes such as Chemistry, Biology and even Economics. I think that I have carried my work load in this class very responsibly and completed the blogs to the best of my ability. These past weeks I sat and thought about how I could successfully complete these blogs weekly, study for this class, do the proper readings, and still complete the work load in other classes and it was challenge. Upon completing the course load of this class I think many have a complete misconception of theology and theology courses. I was told upon coming to Xavier that I did have to complete this class as a core requirement and I had no problem with doing so. Previous students stated that this class was a bird or fly by class and I must agree with them it’s quite the opposite. The reason why I feel that I deserve an A is because I have blogged 1000 or more works each blog and I have also shown pure dedication to fulfilling as much of my project that I could have done in one semester. I feel that my grade should be a reflection of my progress in the implementation of my project. When we are being graded on these blogs you can see how my understanding for the class has affected not only me but my project. I now have something to be constructive with and give me a better understanding of what my organization has done for me. I believe that I have affected the life of hundreds of people in the world. I know this seems like a little on a global aspect but hopefully my implementation of change can start an epidemic where everyone will begin to care about poverty and its affects. Even thought my project will not be completed before the end of this semester so that it would help with how well I implemented my project I feel that my grade should still be an A. I also feel that I have demonstrated an adequate knowledge of the material that has been covered in class. In these blogs I have shown how the information that has been presented in class has been taken and absorbed. I think that I have shown a clear knowledge of the information.
So far everyone that has read my implementation and ideas for my semester project has agreed that my project will help reduce the level of poverty in the city and that my project has great room for expansion and growth. I think that my peers view on my project shows the time I put into not only creating the project but also putting the plan in motion. When I think about how my project will flourish within the next year I think about how I gained a new respect for Mr. Horman. He has taken his class which is teaching us and showing us how to interoperate the bible as well as biblical stories and made it into a world wide movement. Each student that creates and actually initiates these projects will gain more than just a hobby just also a new understanding of how many problems are actually affecting the world today and how they can be resolved.
We didn’t watch the bible movie in class probably thanks to Xavier’s fast acing IT department. Instead I did visit the link that was put on the web. The link showed how different students creatively showed and demonstrated their knowledge of the topics which are covered in theology. For a change the students became the theologians and everyone who watches becomes the students.
I don’t think anyone knows when the world is actually going to end I think they just guess. Many try to place dates in the bible to match up with things that are going to happen in the world. They try to fulfill prophecies that are stated in the bible and use them to reflect things in current times. For example, some people believed that what happened on September 11 was the beginning of marking the end of days. They said that Aristotle predicted the future and that he was a prophet from God who knew when the world would end. The end of the world never happened and no other events have happened to mark his other dates. Another example of individuals predicting when the world would end would probably be the new millennium. When the year 1999 people predicted that the bibles prophecy was the world was ending in the year 2000. Even though the world did not end in the year 2000 there are still individuals who believe in another date. Some feel like were wrong according to the Mayan calendar, some feel that it will end according to the Chinese calendar and some even feel that the world will end according to another date listed in the bible. Christians believe that the world will end in their lifetime because of the dates listed in the bible. Christians like many others use these dates to explain occurrences and phenomenon that happen during their life time. For example some feel like some of the stories in Revelations are written for the future, some feel that it is written for the present to predict what will happen very soon, and other believe that these are the stories that have already happened. Those who believe that the stories have already happened feel that the world history will repeat itself and these events will soon happen. So either way they relate words and dates in the bible to those that are soon approaching.
