Write and send formal letters about your position regarding the problem to four of the following individuals best suited to change the problem. You might consider some of the following:
The president of the United States
Your two senators
Your representative in the House
The mayor
Another local or national representative
A religious figure (for example, the Pope or the Dali Lama)
A Xavier administrator (such as the president, vice-president, or Dean).
Some other individual/group that is appropriate to your project.
You can find addresses for these individuals on the web. Remember in these letters you are representing not only yourself, but also Xavier and even me, so please make extra careful that you use correct grammar and that you are civil. Blog copies of these letters and why you thought these four were best suited to help change the problem. Later blog the responses you get. What does God’s house tell us about God? How is the idea of “Promised Land” problematic? How is African American criticism a useful tool to Bible scholars?

Dear Dr. Francis,
My name is Nia Uwaezuoke and I am writing a letter to express my feelings about a few issues at Xavier University. I am currently enrolled in Xavier University and I am honored to be a student at this wonderful institution of higher learning. I love almost everything about Xavier. The fact that it is the biggest challenge of my life makes it all the better. I know that Xavier will take me exactly where I need to go to accomplish all my goals. The issue I am currently having with Xavier University is dealing with financial aid. I am a struggling college student and I just think that our refund checks could be returned a little quicker.
Sincerely,
Nia Uwaezuoke

Dear Governor Jindal
My name is Nia Uwaezuoke and I am writing to express emotion about the New Orleans public school system. I am currently enrolled in Xavier University where I am studying to become a doctor. In this particular class entitled Theology: Intro to Biblical studies. In this class we were assigned a project to do to make the world a better place. I chose to take time to tutor student that need extra assistance with their school work. I chose this project because the New Orleans public school system is suffering greatly and needs some serious help. I know this has been an issue for many years but it has actually worsened since Hurricane Katrina. This horrible disaster has left our city weaker than ever before, however I believe that the school system should be one the first things on the list of things to do. If our school system could be corrected, the future of New Orleans will be bright. I hope that we could have a full recovery from this disaster and that the school system could as well. I believe with your help these goals are possible.
Sincerely,
Nia Uwaezuoke

I want to congratulate you for all your hard work and success. I am truly proud to be a black American and I know that anything is possible for my future. An issue I think is facing the world today is facing the world today is the war in Iraq. I am aware that you are just entering office and the war was not apart of your plan. However, I know that you are doing everything in your power to put this war to an end. I just want to encourage you to keep up the good work and help us get out of this war. Not only is this war taking the lives of our young soldiers but it is also causing economic issues for our country.
Sincerely,
Nia Uwaezuoke

God’s house tells us about God in many different ways. It expresses God’s power, creativity and love for us. God built his house to show us what type of God he is and how he works.
African american criticism is a useful tool for bible scholars because it allows scholars to refer to African nations in a way that can relate to an audience. It doesn’t actually deal directly with race however because there is no such thing as race in the bible.
The idea of a promise land is problematic because it causes expectations. The people of God were told that there was a promise land and they were waiting for the day to come when they would reach it. It also could cause problems because once the people would reach the promise land they will expect everything to be easy for them.
