Many of these people go to bed at night without eating anything, because they cannot afford it. Also, a lot of these people get very sick and the eventually die of starvation and malnutrition. This is reason why I have decided to do my project on world hunger. My goal, from the very beginning of this semester, was to try to get as many people as I can to volunteer at food banks. I also wanted to start a can food drive to collect cans to donate to the food banks I am volunteering at. So far, my project is going pretty well. I am getting a lot of help from my friends and from the people at Church. I am running a food drive at Church and it is pretty successful. So far we collected over 200 cans. This may not be a lot, but at least people will benefit from it. Every little bit counts.  Not only are we running a food drive at Church but we also volunteered at a food bank in New Orleans called Just the Right Attitude. We all had a great time and we enjoyed volunteering there. After it was over, we all told each other that we wanted to do it again sometime. The people in charge of volunteering there were very nice and they helped us get situated quickly when we got there. We helped package food in boxes and we loaded them and cars and trucks. Not only did we package food, but we also served food to the needy. This was my favorite part of volunteering there, because I got to interact with different people and I learned a lot of things. Volunteering there made me appreciate what I have more and to not take things for granted. It also made me realize how much volunteering at places, such as food banks, impacts these people in a positive way. I really felt sorry for the needy people we were serving and I began to wish I could change these people’s lives. I was really heartbreaking to see that there are a lot of people in this city that do not have a home or a family to keep them company. The people we helped were so thankful and appreciative. I really wished there was more I could do for these people, because I want to change their lives. I also really enjoyed volunteering there so much that I decided to go back again and volunteer some more of my time.

A lot of the credit for this project goes to my friends and those from my Church who have offered their time and donations to helping this cause. Without them, my project would not have been as successful and I really owe it to them for helping me. I would like to thank everyone also took their time to volunteer with me and who donated food. I would also like to thank the people who coordinate Just the Right Attitude for being so kind and helpful. I really feel that these people are doing a great job and pray that God will always be with them.

There are many stories that state why Jesus Christ was crucified. According to the Christian beliefs, Jesus was crucified so that he may save us from sin, but the biblical view through the Gospels, was said that the main reason why Jesus was crucified was because he was said to be the king of the Jews. They gave Jesus a trial because claiming to be the Messiah was blasphemy to the Jews. However, according to the Romans law, blasphemy is not a crime in which crucifixion is the punishment.  The Roman soldiers mocked him, gave Jesus the crown of thorns, and hung a sign on the top of His cross, translated: King of the Jews. Jesus Christ was only crucified because he let it happen and because of the will of God that a reconciliation was made for all the sins of the world.  He claimed to be the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and the Jewish leaders refused to believe in certain gospel teachings. Because of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, we all may have a chance for eternal salvation. He risked his live to save us and he was tortured to death for our sake.  Jesus was betrayed and then arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane. He went through many trials, beatings, whippings, and he tolerated people mocking him.  The soldiers dressed Him up in a purple robe and placed a crown of thorns upon His head. He was then crucified and for three hours the sky was very dark. After Jesus was hung for numerous hours, he called out to God and asked Him to forgive those who persecuted Him for they do not know any better. He then gave up his life and at the end Jesus cried out “Father! Into your hands I commit my spirit!” and then He finally died. (Luke 23:46) The Roman soldiers then broke the legs of the two thieves that were crucified with Jesus so that they could die faster and then they put a spear through Jesus’ side to make sure He was dead. Jesus was crucified because fear took over and people refused to believe that Jesus was really the Son of God. God determined, even before the sin that Adam committed, Christ, the Son of God, would have to be taken up as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. Jesus Christ put His life on the line for our souls to be renewed and that we may open our hearts to eternal salvation with God our Father.
