The prophets tried to go out into the world on a mission of educating people about god. Although I am not trying to educate people about god, I am trying to make am impact in the world by doing what I can through volunteering. The prophets relate to my project in that both are set out on a mission to do something that will influence and change the world through some sort of message or action.

Job was a dedicated follower of God and lived his life in a way that he thought was showing God that he was dedicated to him. However, Job was constantly tested in his faith in god and even thought that he was being punished for something he had done. Job went through much suffering in his life even to the point of basically losing everything that was important to him. However God remained faithful even through all his suffering. This directly relates to rebuilding of New Orleans in that with Katrina many people lost basically everything no matter your race, dedication god, or how you chose to live your life. Many of these people felt that they were being punished for something they had done in their life. However, even through all this tragedy some people have kept the faith and New Orleans is in process of returning to its previous state.

Psalm 22 is about David lamenting and crying out to god in a time of suffering and hardship. The psalm progresses through David asking for god to come down and help him and rescue him from all those that scorn him and do not believe in his faith in the lord and laments about how before, god has come to those that have cried out to him. The psalm then switches to the idea of if god helps David he will praise god’s name to all his people and tell the people to faithfully believe in what David is believing in because it is real and true.
