In my opinion, the three biggest problems that are faced today are wars, hunger, and the downfall of the economy.  Even though many people may or may not agree to this, I think that these are the three that we are all most effected by living in society today.

War is the most important problem because it causes a chain of events and problems that takes place in any part of the world.  War is money demanding and drains a lot of the countries’ accounts defending and supporting for themselves.  Even though war can settle many things, it’s not the best way to solve many problems and that it should be a last resort and not automatically jumped into.  All the money that is spent on war supplies could be used to build new schools, roads, and even financial aids for children because I’m sure many people heard of the saying “the children are the future.”  Wars are not allowing this to happen and setting it to the side to be looked at later because there’s so much money being used for war that more poverty is beginning to take place anywhere in the world and the prices of many goods and services are beginning to skyrocket and eventually people will not be able to afford the required necessities that are needed in life.  It’s a starting point that leads to hunger and economic crisis.

Hunger can be help in many areas but due to the many wars and financial situations going on, it can’t be avoided.  Many people are dying from hunger each and every day and there isn’t enough people in the world to tend to these people because they have their own lives and families to take care of and those who do volunteer and take the time to help feed and shelter the less fortunate already have their hands full with the people that they are trying to give a better life to.  This situation is really hard to avoid because once a crisis takes place the money goes into something else other than feeding and sheltering the less fortunate.  The world needs more doctors to tend to the less fortunate and who are willing to help those who are in poverty and are in need of serious attention.  This brings up the story of ghandi how he starved himself for thirty days and it took five years for him to come close to recovery.  This shouldn’t happen to those who don’t deserve it and who are forced to live in hunger.

Lastly, the economy is always a problem that can not be fixed by just ordinary citizens.  The money used in wars effect this situation dramatically.  If oil is needed for military purposes and the supply is low, gas prices begin to rise and for those who can’t afford gas at that rate must turn to other means of transportation.  If those people stop buying cars and turn to riding bikes and taking the bus, many car companies will go out of business and then those workers will become unemployed and will be in need of a job.  Those people will not know what to do because they are so used to what they did in the car company that they would probably have to go back to school to have another major and would cost money to go to school and pay for all the necessities that they need in order to survive, and they would also have to take care of their family while going to school and the only source of income is coming from the significant other or pulling out many loans in order to pay for everything.  A perfect example is the GM incident that I’m pretty sure many of people know about.  One thing can have a chain or many chains to a reason why the would should be better taken care of and that peace should be held in order for every one to live their lives and hopefully those who are in poverty will find better lives for themselves and/or for their children.

The issue that I can personally do most about is hunger.  Many things can be done to contribute to helping the hunger.  An example would be collecting canned foods from each student to be sent out to those who are in need.  I’m sure if one can is given from each student at Xavier, it could feed many families who are in dying need of nutrition and food to eat.  Another way is setting up a fund raiser and the money that is being collected from the materials sold would be immediately sent off to the people who would use the money to buy food to be delievered to those countries or other areas of their state to be fed.

The plagarism policy explains itself in full detail in what to do and what not to do.  If people plagiarize and get caught it’s their fault and they were the ones who were putting themselves and their future career goals at risk just to pass.  It goes along with the course commitments in becoming a better and more responsible individual and bringing to realization that it’s time to do their own work instead of using the work of others to get the grades that they want.  In turn, those who do plagiarize and get away with it will have to suffer later on when they are required to take a final board test for their specific major.  They will not have learned anything because they chose not to learn it on their own and cheated to pass and they will most likely fail the test and would have to start from scratch all over again.

There is no such thing as a bible because there are many different versions of the bible written by many different people.  There are bibles that contradict each other and there is no main set of stories or ideas that follow each other and there are many controversies that are going on about “the bible.”  The dates that are written differ from other bibles and so on and so forth.  Therefore, since there are no bibles that are exactly the same we can say that there is no such thing a “the bible” cause we wouldn’t know what is true facts and what are not.
