My Project

The problem I would like to address is world hunger. I would volunteer to feel those that are homeless and are in need of food at a soup kitchen. Also, if they needed help in any other way, I would find think of many possibilities. I want to do a fund raiser to help those who are suffering with this problem. I believe I would do a garage sale to help them. I would love to cook for them in any ways possible. If it were possible, then I would take them under my house to do as much as I can if I trusted them. As I stated in my other problem, they would have to be honest. There are many solution to this problems, and these are the few.

I’m glad you are thinking big. Please don’t do anything that would jeopardize your safety. Also, try to give more specifics. Where and when will you volunteer? Can education on the issues of world hunger be part of your plan?

You and a lot of other students want to help out the same issues, which is good. I would think twice before inviting them into your house, people are crazy nowadays. All in all GREAT IDEA.

This is a great idea that would definitely help many hunger people all throughout the New Orleans area. I do not think that it is necessary to bring people into your home to help because this is a safety issue, but the garage sale is a great idea. I think you could kick this off by going to your neighbors in your community and telling them your cause. I beleive that they would be happy to donate things that they do not use anymore, and you could target big things such as bedding or peices of furniture that could make a good amount. You could have the garage sale after 3 weeks of collecting and recieve your profit for the food.

You seem like a really nice person! but I don’t think your plan should involve bringing anyone home! Also, I think your plan need to be more specific like exactly how you are going to help those that are hungry or when you will do it or where it will take place. Hopefully you can come up with a definite plan and maybe i’ll join you in your hunger cause!

Like I have said to a few other people, I think everyone dealing with the issue of hunger should come together and conduct our projects together to make our effort even greater. Many people have the idea of starting a food drive or getting monetary donations; all these ideas put together into a workable plan will make for a wonderful project that can touch a number of people. Although this number may not be a lot or end world hunger, it is a start that can lead to many other people wanting to do the same.

Again, we have another classmate that’s focused in on hunger. I think you have good intentions, but I don’t think that this plan will be very effective. Not to say that you don’t have good intentions, but I don’t think you should give people in this world too much credit. As much as we would like to think we can trust people, this isn’t always the case. But great plan, lets get together and do it.

I agree with you Elizabeth; hunger is a serious issue in america. Although there are food stamp programs, some people who are in need don’t qualify because of their income or other reasons. Today food is so expensive, most people aren’t buying the amount of food they used to. They can’t afford to.
I think that would be a great idea. The government should let people buy some of the unused land so they can grow their own food.
Ther are food donation programs in other countries. I’m sure it is rewarding to donate to other countries and that should not discontinue, but can’t we do that her also?
Hey,about that extra food you wanted to give away, but your boss didn’t allow you to, I think that’s very considerate. I once worked for a food delivery company, which gave their extra food to a homeless shelter. I once gave the rest of the extra food to homeless people on the street after delivering to the shelter. That was rewarding!

I think that is a great idea and it seems to be popular issue so maybe you all can incorporate your ideas together and make a bigger impact than you thought. Another way you could help is by organizing a canned food drive here at Xavier, there are many different clubs and organizaton that have done it and it has proven to be a succes. I think would be effective with your program too.

I think this is a great way to try and help this problem. Helping at a soup kitchen is a very good way of getting a first hand experience. It is also a good way to interact with the homeless. I think your garage sale idea is great because we all have junk that we can get rid of and why not sell them and use the profit to help others in our community. I think the idea of taking them under your house to help them is a nice gesture but very risky. Not saying that all homeless people are bad but it is just a very risky idea to take part in.
