In my opinion, the three biggest problems that are being faced by people in the world today are hunger, pollution, and downfall of economy.

Pollution is a very big problem that everyone faces in the world today. What makes it one of the biggest problems the world faces to be is because almost everyone takes part in it and we do not even notice that we are contributing to the problem. Every little piece of gun wrapper we throw out the window, every time we drive our cars, every time we unknowingly dispose of certain chemicals improperly. The world we live in is becoming more and more polluted each and every day by fumes and chemical substances. As the day starts, the majority of the world wakes up, gets into their car and drives to their destination. Unknowingly, we all are polluting the world as the exhaust fumes from our cars are released into the atmosphere. The fumes poison the air in which we breathe and affect the environment greatly. One of the greatest drawbacks of pollution is the destruction of the ozone layer. Although we cannot see this ozone layer, it is a vital element to our lives. The ozone is main defense we have from the harmful rays of the sun. Without the ozone layer, we would be exposed to much ultraviolet radiation which can enter the cells of our body and destroy our DNA. If the ozone layer were to be completely destroyed, cancer would break out and all life form on earth would be in serious danger. Many actions that we take part in contribute to the breakdown on the ozone layer. Molecules in aerosol cans and coolants known as CFC are released into the air every time we use them. As the CFC reaches the ozone and reacts with the uv light, the ozone molecules react with the CFC and breaks down. The continuity of destroying the ozone has lead to global warming which affects the entire world in a very bad way. Another form of pollution is the improper disposal of chemicals and trash. Many chemical plants, against the law, dispose of chemical in near bodies of water. The chemicals kill some marine life and injure others. This can lead to a chain reaction which can cause the destruction of an entire species in that specific body of water. Also the littering of trash harms the environment also. The use of non-decomposable items is very harmful when disposed of improperly. Plastic can holders can pose a threat to birds and other animals as they can get stuck in them and eventually die. You may think why does this affect me? If so many animals were to die due to pollution, other animals that depend on them may also die, and others will die as a result, and so on and so on. Eventually it will begin to affect us as our source of food and nutrient becomes depleted because of pollution.

World hunger is a very bad problem that many face in the world today. Many of us take food for granted. Our parents always tell us that there are many people out there who would be very grateful to have just a bowl of rice to eat but we never think of it that way until we experience it firsthand. This past winter break, my family and I went to Vietnam together for the first time. As we walked around, I noticed many people even families sitting on the side begging for food. I know that some of them are there to scam others but the majority of them are there because they had no place to live and nothing to eat. My uncle, who is a doctor in Vietnam, told us that many people die because of hunger. It was a very sad view to see so many people suffering without food or even clean water. Every country has people who die of hunger for a long time now and there seems to be no end to it. But it does not mean that the situation should not be considered. Many things can be done to help world hunger but the resources always seem to be misused. I think if people are really willing to address the problem, a lot can be done to help and not so much people will die every year due to hunger.

The downfall of economy is also another big problem faced. It affects everyone and seems to just cause a chain reaction of hardship. The main reason I believe for our decline in economy is the war. War drains a country of many of its resources. Money, oil, etc are drained from the country to supply the war and its citizens must pay the price for it. As oil is needed to supply the war, gas prices rise for the citizen of the country. Due to this, more money must be set aside for gas rather than food or other things. It is hard to avoid gas since we all need to get from point A to B therefore we must sacrifice other things to pay for gas. As the economy falls so does businesses. Many people have lost their jobs because of the decline in economy. Businesses are not able to pay their employees or are just going bankrupt. As a result, many people lose their source of income and will not be able to provide the necessities they need. As the economy decline many things will follow so should be addressed and taken care of.

Yes I do understand the plagiarism policy. No one should be allowed to present someone else’s idea as their own. It has taken a lot of time and thinking in order to produce certain ideas so why should anyone be able to “steal” it and make it their own.

The reason there is no such thing as “The Bible” is because many different religions have their own idea of what the Bible is to them. As you talk to people of different religion, you will learn that their bibles differ. As taught in class, if you ask a Christian for a bible you will get something different than what you would get when asking a Muslim.
