The Tiglath-Pilser Principle in a nutshell is a method in interpreting stories. A good example of this is the Israelites account of important events that include numbers of people such as crossing the Red Sea and deaths during in wars. When historians look at these accounts they can not except them at face value because many of the stories told in the bible were told plenty of times before by word of mouth before they were written down. This means that numbers could have been changed intentionally or not. As a result, historians have to dissect the stories and try to extract the true details.
In both the creation stories of Genesis and Enuma Elish, voice plays an important role. Both gods initiated the beginning of the world through speaking it into existence. Other similarities include the order in which the world was created. Both stories document that the world was initially a space filled with darkness. The first thing to be created was light, the firmament was created second, land was created right after, celestial bodies came into existence next, humans were created last and on the seventh day God rest. There are some differences in the stories. In Enuma Elish there are several gods while in Genesis there is only one. Also in Genesis everything that God created was considered good while in Enuma Elish some things were evil. Another difference in the stories is the way humans are regarded. In Enuma Elish they are pretty much slaves while in Genesis they are rulers of the land.
