Dear Mr. President,
I am a student at Xavier University of Louisiana. This semester I have to take on a project that does well to the world. My project is based on the problem of world hunger. I want to inform our society how the problem of world hunger is increasing, and it is time we do something about it. I believe that with your help it will be possible for me to spread the word. I have ideas in mind to contribute, but with the help of others there would be a bigger portion of work done. I believe that with your help we will be able to set up many shelters in cities suffering from this problem. I have done research, and some cities do not have shelters or soup kitchens. Also, world hunger causes poverty. I believe you can set up programs that help men, women, teens, and more to help find jobs to get their life back on the road. I believe it would be a great idea to set up an area where people are able to donate food or money to those in need. There would be a tremendous effect in our world if this was enforced. It would be highly appreciated not from only me, but my school, teacher, and basically the whole world. Your involvement would benefit many of those in need by making them aware of the opportunities offered to them.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Huu Tran

Dear Mayor Nagin,
I am a student at Xavier University of Louisiana. In my biblical studies class, my instructor has encouraged each student to do a project that will change the world based on the severity of the issue. I think one of the biggest issues in our society is world hunger. I feel that it is crucial that we do as much as we can to help those in need. New Orleans has suffered from world hunger for many years, but ever since Hurricane Katrina hit there was a bigger downfall. I feel that we are able to build programs that are beneficial to those in need by peer mentoring them into what else they can do in life. Those suffering from world hunger need tremendous help, and I believe they would appreciate it if we set up more soup kitchens in New Orleans or Louisiana itself. At these soup kitchens, we will be able to cook a huge amount of food for them. My fellow classmates and I plan on setting up a campaign that encourages students to join us in helping those in dire need. I believe if you planned a nationwide meeting at the convention center, then our word would be sent out. Another way you can help would be to initiate a fundraiser that brings the community together. For example, walk for the hunger citywide would be a great idea. It would be greatly appreciated if you helped me and my fellow classmates in this situation. We hope that our project comes out to be a great one.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Huu Tran

Dear Mr. Francis
I am a student here at Xavier University. In my biblical studies class, we are involved in a project that we have started at the beginning of the semester. Our projects are based on problems dealt with in our society today. My project is based on the problem of world hunger. I was hoping that you could join us in helping our community to think of ideas to hope those in need. I believe that it is possible to have fundraisers at school that will be able to receive donations to help those that need it the most. If we can find families that need help in our community, then we will be able to have a chance in thinking of possibilities. I know that there will be people in this community willing to give donations. Some examples of those donations could be money, can food, and more. If it is possible, will you be willing to help us coordinate a school-wide event to bring the students together to think of ideas that will be possible in doing? Our school would be appreciated as well as the students too. If this implementation came out good, then we would be known to be a caring and sharing school. I hope that this execution in fundraising, community service, and care-taking will be carried out fully.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Huu Tran

Dear Mr. Cao,
I am a student at Xavier University of Louisiana.
This semester I have to take on a project that does well to the world. My project is based on the problem of world hunger. The problem of world hunger is increasing, and I believe it will grow until we do something about it. I was hoping that you could spread the word that we should put as much effort into this problem so that we can help those in need. I was hoping that you could bring Asian American communities together to host a huge fundraiser that will receive tremendous amount of donations that we can spread worldwide. In Vietnam, in China, in the Philippines, and more, there is a huge problem with hunger. There are children suffering from lack of food. It is sad that they must dig on the floor for food. I wanted to know if you had any ideas what we could do. I know that you are a strong, bold person that people would listen to. I think that not only Asian American should come together, but of all races. If we are able to travel the world and help those in need, then it would be highly appreciated. I want you to know that my fellow classmates and I are trying to put as much work into this project as we can. We still need a lot of help though. I am hoping that everything will go out smoothly as planned. I hope to hear from you soon Mr. Cao. Also, thanks for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Huu Tran

I feel as these four people are best suited because they will be able to bring our community together to help with this problem. Asian Americans, African American, and others should come out and support. I hope that with these initiatives in place we will be able to help those in need.
God’s house is another way of saying it as the Tabernacle. It is a place where ancient people worship God in a huge tent. The Tabernacle was made by Acacia woods with a little hint of gold inside and outside of its walls. Inside of the close walls was the ark of covenant consisting of the tablet, known as the Ten Commandments. The outer room of the Tabernacle contains the following things a alter where the priest place the bread and wine, an table where they lay the bread and the priests cloths, and a Golden lamp stand where the priest uses it to pray before an event. In entering the tabernacle there is a stern rule you must follow, if not you will be killed. God is a very strict person; he wants everyone to follow his teachings carefully.
How is the idea of “Promised Land” problematic? From the standpoint of the Israelites, it is understood in the reading of the Canaanites, Cowboys, and Indians written by Robert Allen Warrior. In the story it explains that in the earlier century if you were not a part of the Israelites race, your opinion and statement were not as significant and that they are comparing between the American and to Native and Israelites to the Canaanites. It is a fact that worshipping one God basically tells us how true you are with God. In order for the Israelites to be descended to the Promised Land, the people must be faithful to God and he/she will be blessed in the Land in which Yahweh will conquer for them. For most of the slavery people of Israel they were delivered by to live up to the covenant as long as they can. With the help of God, if he brings you into the land, it will swipe away all the other nations and it will bring you the power to conquer and rule the rest of the other nations around there. In the word of Yahweh he gave promises to Abraham and Moses to be ready to fulfill the instruction to lead the Israelites into their victory. The Idea of “Promised Land” is that God has this piece of sacred, perfect land set aside for all of his followers. It is understood that if you live your life according to his regulations, you will settle in the Promised Land and be blessed with eternal life. Originally this Promised Land was the land God promised to Abraham and all of his descendants under the Abrahamic covenant. I think that this idea is a good one because it bases access on your actions all through life. I just do not know if modern day idea of Promised Land is accurate because they associate it with Heaven and I am not for sure that it was the identical land God was referring to.
How is African American Criticism a useful tool for bible scholars? It helps them to have a better understanding of the civilization that took place in Africa. By using this type of criticism bible scholars are able to seek and portray African Americans in the past. It also helps others to distinguish how Hebrew Canon may be connected to Africans. The bible never stated the color or race of the residents or the body types. Through careful examinations of the civilizations scholars can see that countries like Egypt for example were well respected for their military power, for their wealth, and their wisdom. Historical figures for example Queen Sheba was viewed as powerful, wise, and rich. Knowing this allows scholars to see the perspectives of Israel towards Africans.
This blog is now finished…They seem to be getting even harder. My project as long with my fellow classmates’ projects will turn out extraordinary. Also, Dr. Homan, thanks for your support.
