I am concerned with the drug abuse problem in thr grester New Orleans area. I’m sure there’s a lot of programs and different agencies who are working dilgently to conquer this problem. Keeping a close eye on drug activty and abuse will make our communities a much better places to live. I’m asking that our senotors help with implementing a mandator policy, which will make it mandatory for a person who was arrested for drug abuse is placed in a program which focuses in drug rehabilitation. If not, it may become a visious cycle. Also, people arrested for drug distribution should be placed ina mandatory drug distribution rehab,ficility. To chief Riley. I think having a rehab ficility on the commond would be great. That can motivate the abusers and distributers to discontinue with their “road to destruction.” I’m sure this program could become successful; many people just never been involved with a program that like, but want to quit. Our city is so rich with culture, we must emplement and exacute these types of programs. Our schools are placese we definately want to keep drugs out of; unfortunately it’s there. We will work dilegently to get it out. A program should also be emplemented for students who are identified as abuseres and/or distributors. Mr. Paul Vallas, as our superintendent of schools, we trust that you will be a great leader as you start this program. This will eliminate a lot of problems within the school system. It will definately curve the drop-out rate and it will increase the graduation rate. It will help prevent violent crime in the schools. And it help will to prevent fatalities in the school system. A drug program for students would be an asset to all of us. And last but not least, to Kevin Jennings of the safe and drug-free schools and communities(SDFSC). That program is one of the most important programs emplemented by former president Bush. President Obama is doing a tremendous job at making sure the programs that were in place when he took office are still in place. And this is one of them. So, to all of our previously named, honorable leaders; lets emplement these programs so we will have more leaders like YOU !!!
