So far with my project, Kiara Maddox reached out to anyone who would be interested in teaming up with her to do a project concerning hunger. So, I decided to reach out to her and team up to complete the project. So far, we have discussed our plans and made an outline of our to-do-list. We are kind of stuck in neutral because some of our plans are blocked by other organizations on campus. So once the other clubs are done, we can step in to complete our project. As of now, it is going along slowly but surely. We have good plans in the making and ready to make it happen. Hopefully, everything that we have planned will go smoothly and effectively. Our goal is to help people that are less fortunate, as well as understand how blessed we are and to be grateful for all of our many blessings.
I pondered this question for quite a long time…like for a few days. I asked around to different people for different points of views and finally I gave up because I was having no luck what-so-ever. However, it eventually came to me. Psychology is the study of behavior, the mind, feelings, etc. And we often ask the question, what the motives of the people of the Bible were and why they did what they did. As a psychology major I am learning that I can examine those behaviors and link them to certain possible motives that they may have had. Also, people evolve over time and as the world change people do as well. Hence, psychologists examine world or society influences on certain cultures and the people that belong to those cultures. I realized that at first I did not think that my major had anything to do with this class but obviously as Dr. Homan said I was not thinking hard enough.
Feminist criticism is when someone analyzes a piece of work and try to examine how men and women differ, the importance of women in literature, women’s role in literature, discrimination of women, and how women are represented or portrayed. A good model is the women in the Bible. Feminist criticism is a useful tool because it allows the readers to understand the text from the female perspective and to understand the women of that time and their motives and actions.
I was not shocked by the grade I earned on my midterm for it was not so good. Though I did study ahead of time, I don’t think it was enough for the amount of material we had to cover. However, on the test day I completely blanked out and it was downhill from there. Thankfully, Dr. Homan was generous enough to issue out a retake and offered to combine the two grades and take the average of the two. So if it wasn’t for the make-up exam, I would have been screwed.
