Please read Dr. Homan

This is the blog that I have been waiting for. I believe that I am going to have a field day with this one. This blog requires that we evaluate the content of our blogs and give ourselves an honest evaluation of what our grade should be. Well be prepared, because I am about to be as honest as I can. I think that for the time, effort and attempt of two blogs, maybe even three, should get an “A” range grade. I don’t really think that Dr. Homan, no offense, really understood how much work he required of us this semester until it was too late in the semester. I still don’t see the connection between theology and the blogs, so my motivation was initially shot. Dr. Homan, If you read this, I have an idea that will blend the class material with the blogging. What if the material that was supposed to be read before coming into class, was the material that we had to blog on, that way you will know that we read the required material. The blogs could consist of what we think of certain issues and parables that we read in the bible. We can blog our feelings towards certain questions that you come up with regarding the reading, and discuss issues that we do not get the chance to discuss in class. The class time can be the clarification. Now that I have said my peace, and acted as a mock teacher, I really believe that if someone took the time out to right a sincere blog, that they should get a good grade of no less than a “b”. Even if you cram to get as many blogs in as possible, you should still get credit. We have regular school (13-18 hours), some of us have jobs, extracurricular activities (clubs/societies/fraternities), then we have to write four plus papers each week for one class, and if another paper happens to fall on that date, the you have to blog and write the paper for the same class. Maybe it is me, and me being a veteran here at Xavier, but I just feel as though the class did not peak interest until the very end, mainly when we were doing the movie. Long story short, and don’t laugh Dr. Homan, I think I should get an “A” for my blog grades, but no lower than a “B”. I am about to post this and looking forward to your response.

I thought about your idea relating the reading to the blog, but I wanted the project to fit in with Xavier\’s mission about making the world a better place. I can\’t post your grade in public places, so you\’ll have to email me if you\’re interested. I wish I could have made the material more interesting for you. Personally, I find the material to be amazing and try hard to convey my enthusiasm for the topic. I\’m trying to make the students see the connection between their lives and what happened in the Bible. In some ways these things are similar, but in many ways they are different. Anyway, great meeting you, and I think you have much to offer the world. But when you have a career, you might make more of an effort to do things like show up. You did a great job with the movie.
