My project deals with the government of health changing the way they determine who is eligible for Health insurance. As I previously said before, college students who were once eligible until graduating from high school are in need of this medical insurance, while they are in college. College students not only lack the finances to pay for their own insurance, but in addition to this, they are forced to pay for an on campus health insurance. On campus health insurance, which is approximately three hundred dollars, only covers dental and physical check ups at the on campus clinic. This does not include any medication discounts. So if the doctor says that “You need Naproxen Sodium”, be prepared to pay for it yourself. This is nothing like how you used to have your medicine paid for when you were in high school. I also stated that if the government of health decided to allow for those who are in college continue to receive medical insurance, until they have graduated from college, the students will definitely be in a position to began paying for their own insurance. By this, tax payers will receive a reduction in their medical insurance taxes, which they pay for those who are on medical insurance. Remember the more people who are paying for their own medical insurance, the more benefited and prosperous tax payers and doctors will be. Like I said earlier, doctors will finally be able to receive pay in full, instead of having complications form H.M.O. Now that I have reminded you on what my plan is about, I am going to write a letter to the Dean of Xavier University, which will give evidence as to exactly what kind of health insurance is on campus, I will also write a letter to Dr. Ben Carson, to get his views on H.M.O. in relation to which payment he would rather receive, cash or medical insurance. I would also write a letter to the government of tax collectors, just so that they can reveal the proof of society being taxed to pay for medical insurance. And ULTIMATELY, I would then write a letter to the GOVERNMENT OF HEALTH. I would give them all of the information that I have received from Dr. Ben Carson, Dr. Norman C. Francis and the Government of Taxes. By this, the Government of Health will see how important an issue this is and why it should be changed. Below are a print outs of the four letters.

Dear Dr. N. Francis,
My name is Chavell Scott, and I am a Bio-medical Engineer Major here at Xavier University. As a sophomore there are issues regarding medical insurance that I feel should be addressed. I am writing you in order to obtain factual information regarding the financial status of the students on our campus due to paying on campus health insurance. At the bottom of this letter, I have a questioner for you to fill out. After you complete it, I am going to use it as evidence proving why college students should receive governmental medical insurance, until they have reached a financial status that will allow for them to pay for their own medical insurance.
1. How many students are on Xavier University’s campus?
2. How many students on the campus are paying for on campus medical insurance?
3. Out of the amount of students who pay for on campus medical insurance, how is their financial status after paying all educational fees? Is their status recorded to be in debit or non-qualified to receive a refund check?
4. Do you feel that this medical insurance on campus should be ceased? Why?
Thanks,
Chavell Scott

Dear Dr. Ben Carson,
How are you doing? I am a student at Xavier University and I am writing you in regards to your views on H.M.O. I am interested in seeing college students become eligible to receive medical assistance until they are financially equipped to pay for their own insurance–due to having a good job after graduating from college. So, I would like to have you view on how you rather receive your payment for your medical services. I have noticed that many Doctors complain about Health Insurance Companies paying them less than what they deserve. Please write me back and tell me your views on this issue. I will use your insight as evidence showing that college students should receive governmental insurance, until they have a good paying job to finance their own medical bills. By this you will receive your earnings in cash, although you will have to receive it through H.M.O., but if you just wait patiently, eventually you will receive the right pay. But first, I am going to need you to send me a letter that shows how you would prefer to receive your earnings, and why.
Thanks,
Chavell Scott

Dear Government of Tax Collectors,
How are you all doing? This is a letter regarding medical insurance. I am interested in seeing college students receive medical insurance from the government of health. I am writing you in order to obtain documentation that can assist me in persuading the government of health to give college students medical assistance. I am familiar with the fact that your organization taxes those in the U.S. for medical insurance. People in society have to pay for the free medical insurance that the government of health issues. Well, I would like to have documentation from you showing the amount of people who are being taxed for medical insurance. I want to use this information so that the Government of Health will see how society, who complains about the taxes they have to pay for something they may not use, is affected by this. I want to display that there is a way that society can become more at ease when they see that there is a reduction in their check for medical insurance.
Thanks,
Chavell Scott

Dear Government of Health,
How are you doing? As a student at Xavier University, I am very concerned about the Health Insurance of college students. As a student here at the University myself, I want to inform you on the problems that the decision of discontinuing the medical insurance, which was free, for those who reach the age of eighteen. With students being ineligible to receive medical insurance, they are attending school uncomfortably. If the student was to get sick, he or she would have to face the decision of either using their finances to pay for school or purchase very expensive medical visits or medication. With this being a thought, the student has the option of taking care of their health issue rather than their education issue. This can lead to the student being asked to exit the University due to outstanding fee debt. This can hinder a student’s opportunity to obtain a good education. Secondly, if the student was to make the decision off favoring their education over their health, this may lead to the student’s death. Either way the student will not obtain an education. Attached to this letter are various statements. One letter is from the President of Xavier University. His letter is informative on the situation at Xavier University, which is a University I used to represent the type of problems regarding finances at universities. I also wrote Dr. Ben Carson in order to obtain information on how many Doctors, such as himself views the medical insurance companies. Lastly, there is a letter from the Government of Tax Collectors, which is being used to inform you on the amount of people who are being taxed for medical insurance and how many people in society complain about this. By you reading these letters from these representatives of groups, you will note how my plan of your facility deciding to allow for those who are in college continue to receive medical insurance, until they have graduated from college, will be the right choice. With this being done, students will be in a position to pay for their own medical insurance. By this, tax payers will receive a reduction in their medical insurance taxes, which they pay for those who are on medical insurance. Remember the more people who are paying for their own medical insurance, the more benefited and prosperous tax payers and doctors will be. Like I said earlier, doctors will finally be able to receive pay in full, instead of having complications from H.M.O. Please take note of these letters, for they are useful in backing up my problem with medical insurance.
Thank You,
Chavell Scott
p.s. - I’ll be looking forward to your reply on this situation.

Chavell:
Health insurance is a big concern especially with the all the cuts in Medicaid and Medicare being made. I really feel sorry for people who do not have medical insurance. What are they supposed to do when they get sick? How will they get well? Chavell, press on this issue. It is just amazing to me that college students have relevent concerns such as yours. I wish you well in your pursuit. Your idea is great and I wish you luck.

Girl I am so glad that you addressed this issue, it is a shame how college studetns and other people can’t afford health care. Paying to be healthy even sounds stupid if you ask me, it’s not like you make yourself sick on purpose! Now I can see things like surgeries, deliveries, even therapy shouldn’t be free becasue you choose to do those things, but if i get the flu and pneumonia, how fu**ed up is it that I have to pay somebody to get well. Or better yet, if I have a seizure and the ambulance comes to get me, i have to pay them $500 fror the ride, for all that I would have caught the bus. No one asks the victim if they want an ambulance but they damn sure send the bill. Good idea and I like your plan.

you get props for focusing on an issue like this. before i even knew what your actual plan was, i was like “hell yeah.”Anyway, sending the survey to government officials is a good idea. let them do their research and maybe they will realize how much money we distribyte every yesar for health insurance. if i’m not mistaken, its like $300.00 for off campus insurance, but you are automatically covered while you’re on the campus. either way, we should not have to pay if it’s not in our financial budget. i really, really, like your idea and i hopethat you are sucessful with th outcome.
