Now it is going to be hard to write so much on a topic I am not too familiar with. However, I have been in church all my life, but I was previously taught the usual bible tales and fables. Now more about Lamentation…It was written by the prophet Jeremiah. Lamentation means prayer in Hebrew. Lamentation is the book that discussed 586 BCE. Once again, 586 BCE was when the Babylonians wiped out the Jews. The Jews were confused and did not understand why GOD allowed this to happen. To me, I look at it, as we need to go through trial and tribulations. In order for us to recognize and be able to praise GOD, he need to be able to bring us out of situation. Therefore, GOD takes us through in order to bring us out.
I hope that this class is not a just a lecture but a more of away to engage and enhance our learning and understanding of the bible and different religion. I have always been curious, and eager to learn more about the bible in depth. I also expect to learn more about individual groups: Jews, Israelites, etc. I also hope and pray that I can understand and apply what I learn to my own life and daily living. Dr, Homan seem to be a great teacher; he is not boring. YES! He links the bible to everyday topics in order for us to understand.
