Dear ___________,

My name is ShaQuanda Sanders; I am a sophomore at Xavier University working on a project for my Theology class. I am writing to you because of my concern for the high rate of hunger that exists in the world today. This is not just the problem of those that it affects. It is everyone’s problem and everyone should have a hand in dealing with it and helping to create a solution that will eventually alleviate this problem.
I have recently done research on this issue for my project and I have discovered that the facts are quite disturbing. My understanding of the information is really quite simple. There are things being done already to try and fix this problem that is hurting out society, but there are factors that just continue to hold us down as a whole. We need something that will reverse this, something that will bring everyone together, get them involved in trying to get rid of the problem permanently.

I thought these were the best choices for my letter to be sent to because I believe they have already begun to try out solutions on this problem. I think that by my writing these letters to them, it would encourage them to go a little further into the situation in hopes that it will bring some positive outcomes from my efforts. I know that, looking at this whole situation from a realistic point of view, it will take a little longer than just the blink of an eye to fix this problem. The problem has been bearing down on us as a society for many many years now, so obviously it will take time to make a turnaround for us as well.

*This was sent to the President of the United States, Senator Thad Cochran, Trent Lott, and Mayor AJ Holloway.
